Three NIMH's and a PTN04050CAD.

I just got a PTN04050CAD from the TI sample program.
Have to buy a pair of 100uF Ectrolytic Caps.

I am going to bread board the set up I want to use.

I need to decide how to put in an enclosure 3 each NIMH AA 2000 mAh batteries, an N Mosfet, Tactile Switch, Led, and a recessed Mini Vivi Nova or a Rebuilable Stardust - 3 ohm.

I am on the look out for a small voltage meter that will read 2.9 to 4.65 volts DC.

I will not use an adjusting resistor as the output voltage is 5 volts with no adjusting resistor installed.

I should be getting 5 volts out, 3 ohm load, 1.67 current and use about 8.3 watts.

It will be interesting to see how long a set of batteries last.

Also there are too many to name off hand that have helped me and others.

Any suggestions on enclosures would be appreciated. I believe that an AA battery is about a 14500 or so size.

I doubt 3 nimh's will run the booster very well if at all. The voltage drop more then likely will shut the circuit off after a second or 2 vaping. You really are going to be better off looking into high drain batteries if you want to run a booster. I wouldn't run a boost circuit off anything less then a 18650 hi drain

I've heard two NiZn's will do quite nicely, they have a decent current rating.
