▪ AW 18650 IMR 2000mAh

▪ Panasonic 18650 Li-Mn-Li-ion CGR18650CH High Drain 10A 2250mAh

▪ Efest 2600 High Drain IMR 18650

... are all good 'high drain' batteries.

Of the above, the AW IMR 18650 has the fastest response (highest discharge), but also the most short-lived before recharge.

The following batteries are on their way to me which I have not yet tested:

▪ MNKE IMR 18650 Li-MN

▪ Panasonic-Orbtronic 18650 High Drain 2900mAh NCR18650PD Hybrid Li-ion

▪ AW 18650 IMR 1600 mAh 20A

I think you will like the 1600mah AW,my old 1600's seem to hit as good if not just a little better, than the 2000's.The MNKE supposedly is a better battery ,but if it is,I can't tell.
The panasonics are a close second to the AW's,to me at least.Even though the AW's are panasonic cell's with a different wrapper,I dont' think the batteries are the same.

2900mah NCR18650PD high drain Panasonic. If over 11ish watt vaping. Under 11ish watts I would go with the ICR 3400mah panasonic. You can get them both at orbtronic.com for cheaper then anyone.
Personally I believe that to be a false standard. The performance of High Drain batteries is quite apparent even below 11 watts. In fact IMRs respond quite a bit faster than ICRs either way. The quantity of amps delivered and the speed of it's delivery are not remotely the same thing. This holds true for both regulated as well as electronic mods.

I agree.

The Panasonic 18650 Li-Mn-Li-ion CGR18650CH High Drain 10A 2250mAh has substantially slower response time than the AW 18650 IMR 2000mAh but they last a lot longer. They are most definitely not the same.

I'm waiting for the Panasonic-Orbtronic 18650 High Drain 2900mAh NCR18650PD Hybrid Li-ion to come in and see how they compare to the AW IMRs. They can hit up to 18 amps, but if it takes too long to get there, then they won't be any good to me either. All I need is 3 amps and it's a race against time not max. discharge capacity, and so far the AW IMRs lead the pack by quite a margin.

Using mechanicals ... with 6/7 coil wraps, 28ga at 1.4 ohms are sizzling using the AW IMRs in under a second, the Panasonic 2 - 3 seconds, and since all my attys are set up pretty much the same way, TIME is everything. However, I'd like to get more than just a couple of hours peak performance out of my batteries.

I don't have any AW's to compare to. I also wrap everything with 28 ga but typically shoot for 0.9 to 1.1 ohms. The thicker wire takes longer to heat up than the thinner stuff so I am in the habit of automatically taking a primer puff before I hit it proper. Maybe the Panasonics are a bit slower? But I don't see any 2-3 seconds before they get glowing... and give me a solid snap, crackle and pop!

I hold them to my ear and time it. The vape also shows the same.

Yup, thicker takes longer, thus I need to find one that most optimally meets my setup, both in terms of discharge speed and charge-life. It's the long 28ga wire, ie. 6/7 wrap I'm contending with, and a battery that works best with that.

I use 1100mAh AW IMR 18490's nearly exclusively.
Those are very good too, use them in my Atmizoo Roller to keep the size down and all the power of an AW IMR 18650.
