Hello, I'm new to this forum and hope this is an appropriate place to ask my question.

I have an eGo type batter 650mah (I think) and regularly use the Smoktech LR cartomizers. I recently changend carts, and initially it worked fine, but suddenly stopped (didn't do anything at all). I thought maybe the carto died but I plugged my extra battery into and it worked fine. I tried to put it back on the inital battery and again nothing. I decided to check the battery by attaching my atty, this combo worked fine also. So I guess I'm wondering why this carto is working with one battery and not the other. Could there be a problem with the contact point, if so how can I adjust it? I hate to toss this working carto and start another since its new and full, but one battery isn't gonna cut it either.

Welcome to ECF. I had a somewhat similar issue with my Ego 650. I was using a Smoketech LR Dual Coil carto and all of the sudden nothing. I put another carto on and it worked fine, and I put the original carto on another battery and it worked fine. I then noticed the LED on my Ego's button flashed twice when I pressed the button with that carto on it. I cleaned the contacts on it, put it on the charger and charged it back up while using my 2nd battery. Once fully charged I tried again and it worked fine. My belief is that the Mosfet switch didn't like the LR, or the battery was overheating, or something to that affect. The same thing happened a few days later, and again a full recharge resolved the issue. It hasn't happened again.

I hope this helps.

1) Welcome to ECF.
2) Very good. You win the best-instincts prize for today! Yeah, that's a common issue with the center posts being more pushed-in on one battery and/or carto than the other. The symptom is when it works on one and not the other, but other stuff works on both and you start scratching your head.

Use a paper clip or something to pry the center posts up on both the battery and the carto. Do it gently and don't tear the little rubber gasket or rip any wires out of the center holes.

You could stick a pin in the bottom of the carto and pull down slightly to make sure it's making a connection with the battery.

Do you have another carto to try on the battery that didn't work with that carto. You could try to adjust the button on the battery. Again get a small screwdriver or pin and very slightly try to raise the center post on the battery. Maybe it got pushed down a bit because it was screwed in too tight to the charger (only screw in until it lights) or screwing the carto on too tight.

You guys rock. Nice simple fix, don't know why it didn't dawn on me. I took a paperclip and bent a small hook on the end and worked it around in the hole on the connecting end of the carto, and voila problem solved. I am super impressed with the responses and the response time on this forum. I have posted to various other forums in the past and never heard anything. Three responses in under two hours... Fantastic!

hi apuck & ajohnson13..most eGo pump out 3.4V..if LR Dual Coil carto is use and it is 1.5 ohms..yr eGo will have a limited period(fully charged) be4 it is not capable to function as LR 1.5 ohms needs 3.7V..i recommend VV eGo(variable voltage) since this battery has 3 settings 3.2V,3.7V and 4.2V can handle LR carto from 1.5 ohms to SR 3 ohms but if U should have the lavatube from 3V to 6 V all cartos can be use..happy vaping ..regards mafig ps when filling carto, remember to check yr carto is free from blockage ie yr centre hole is clear from the liquid,if not blow into a tissue until U see a light thro yr centre hole otherwise poor vapor and hard draw
