I've been seeing a lot of talk about over-charging batteries...
so I'm curious if there's a battery charger with an auto-cutoff
to keep over-charging from happening?

The mod i am building is going to have on board charging. The charging chip i picked out for mine has a settable timer that will shut off the charger after the allotted time. Since i must have looked at over a 100 li ion charging chips i can say that feature is pretty rare. They all have protection of some kind but for one to shut off after so many hours is not a feature you will find in many charging chips.
Edit: misread that question But yes they all shut off once the battery is fully charged. But sometimes when cells get old they will not reach full voltage anymore and just keep charging. Reason i went with a timer on my chip.
