I have a charger for a AW 17670 1600 mAh battery. Does anyone know if that will charge a AW IMR 18650 as well or do I need to purchase another battery charger?

What is the model/make of the charger? Since the 17670 is also a 3.7v I'm inclined to say as long as it has adjustable posts 'Yes'... charges at 300 - 400mAh in 3.7v. It would be better if we knew the make/model to confirm though. -Magnus

The charger says Tenergy Switching adapter

It also says...
ok for 18650/14500 on the back, but doesn't say anything about the for a 17670

I can't find a matching model to that. And ~I~ have never seen one from Tenergy that has a maximum output voltage of 12v that isn't one of their balance/programmable chargers in the RC market.
Does this one have a voltage switch that goes 3.2/3.7/6/7.4/12v on it?
If it has a variable switch for output voltage and mAh then it's still a clear yes. Hrmm. I will do some digging in old catalogs to see if I can find that model. -Magnus

If it's OK for those two, it's fine for the 17670...... so I guess you're good-to-go. -Magnus
On the other side of the charger, where you put the batteries in it says: 2-Bay 18650/14500 Li-ion Charger Item No 01269-01 Specification: Input: DC12V 1000mA and Output: DC4.2V 1000mA X 2 Characteristics: Suitable for 18650/14500 Li-ion Battery. Employs constant current-constant voltage charging.
Yeah, that's more like what I was expecting. You're good-to-go. Any protected AW 18650 will do just fine in that. Beautiful. -Magnus
