I bought several battery chargers recently and noticed some of them that have two bays to simultaneously charge two batteries but only have one LED light indicator. Does that mean that they will probably not both equally be charged when the light turns green? Is this similar to charging two batteries connected in series to a usb adapter wall travel charger you get with the e-cig starter kits? Bad news or what? If so why would they even make or sell something that obviously would cause unbalanced battery charges. Even if you were using each battery for a different device it is just stupid to even sell or make something like that isn't it? The same thing goes for unprotected batteries. If they recommend using PCB protection even for a single Li-ion battery why the hell would they ever make or sell unprotected batteries? I don't get it...

Because there are hundreds of other uses for Li-Ion's where one might desire to use external protection. Protection is always recommended but when building multiple cell devices, or building battery packs, a single external protection chip can be a more viable solution.
