On the question of chargers, anyone know of one that has a USB input and not a regular power cord?

Sorry to hijack your thread OP but it is just getting more charger options. With a USB input you could use your computer, car, battery pack, solar panel, or a wall wort to charge your batteries. I am looking at charging the same batteries as the OP and was thinking this would give more charging options for all, if anyone knows of one.

I ignored my rule and bought a "package" deal of an iTaste VTR and a Efest LUC Smart LCD Battery Charger with two Efest 18650 IMR 2250mAh High Drain Flat Top batteries. It was a Black Friday deal, so I figured "why not?" I have no idea whether the changer (or batteries) are any good. I'll find out soon enough and post if anything is worth mentioning.

Don't quote me, hahahah, but with the lithium-ion batteries requires more voltage to charge to full capacity than a usb connector can provide. For your car, I would buy an inverter.

All the ego batteries I have use a USB charger, so I can't see why a USB charger for 18650's etc would not exist. The ego USB chargers are 69c at fasttech but you would need some sort of adaptor to connect it to an 18650 for example. The ego chargers I have are rated at a 420mA charge rate but I haven't measured it to confirm. This charge rate would be OK for an 18650, it might take around 4 hours or so to fully charge a flat one though.

Not true. If that was so then all pass-thru's, EGO chargers, VV V3.0 charger. etc., would not work. Chargers reduce the voltage to around 4.2 volts to charge the batteries. Wall warts & car adapters for USB reduce the voltage from 120v (or 12v) to 5v.
