I have three batteries for my classic pen. One is too weak to use any more, the other two are on their way out, I think.
Anyway, I wanted to have an alternative to always ordering batteries so I tried this. So far, no success.
I cut the dead battery in half, halfway up it's length and removed / discarded all of it's insides. I left the threaded contact end intact. Then I soldered a wire to the center contact and another wire to a small hole I drilled in the side. The wires are on the inside so they run up and out of the now hollow battery case. A blob of epoxy on the cut end to close it all off and hold the wires.
Tested it all with an Ohm meter to make sure there were no shorts and contacts were good. Installed the atomizer, hooked up two AA batteries, took a drag and nothing. Tried three AA's - nothing. The AA's are fully charged.
The stock battery outputs 3.2v. The two AA's have 3v and three of them have 4.5v.
Why won't this thing work? Is it a current thing?
If AA batteries don't have enough current to heat the atomizer, how come AA batteries work in the cigar model e-cig.
Any ideas?
Thanks all.
