Have a bit of concern on the battery cutoff time on the VaporKing's. Mine seem to cutting off at 5 seconds. I was under the impression (not sure from where though) that the kr808d-1 batteries had around a significant longer cutoff time.

Is the 5 second cutoff I see what it is supposed to be?

some have 5, some have 7-8, they were all supppose to be with no cutoff. The latest 808's were even shorter cutoffs.

My batteries are all omfg 8 second cutoffs... I can hit the bottom, but wow, i gotta seriously have my poop in a group and plan ahead to do so. My wife can hit the bottom on them every time...I'm not commenting, although i'm dieing to throw something witty in there..but somehow she's doin it.

I think the only way you could get away with *no* cutoff is on a manual battery. If it ever stuck on like that bad batt i had, no cutoff would be bad news squared. The new batt you sent me is flawless btw, thank you!.

As for timing, according to my seiko chronograph, they were all 8 sec+ including the one that died. I guess i got lucky there. But i wouldn't hold out any hope for an auto battery with *no* cutoff, if they did make it, they'd have to add a secondary safety feature to positively ensure it didnt meltdown in the event of a catastrophic failure. If you really corner your manufacturer, I predict you'll hear that same line from him on auto batteries.

This issue would be utterly resolved of course, by creating a manual battery which you already stated theyre working on (YAY!). I can't wait to test drive that bad boy when it arrives.

Everyone seems to like the manual battery and although I have never tried one it seems to me that an auto battery is just fine if the cutoff is 8 secs. I think you have to really be trying hard to get past and 8 sec cutoff.

The problem is that some of the production run got 5 sec instead of 8 sec timers. I agree that 8 sec is surely enough, although I've always liked manual batteries better, since if well manufactured, theyre almost fail-proof
