people have posted on this. Some say break tooth picks off in the holes. Some say fill on or two of the holes with gasket sealer. Some say solder the holes shut and redrill smaller holes. The new batteries that will be in stock soon are supposed to have a little smaller holes. I say buy manual batteries and avoid the whole issue. Manuals are my preffered batteries.

What size did you get?
I've got..
XL manuals: Nice resistant draw, could be ever so slightly tighter

XL auto: same size hole as XL manual, but hole position is too close to bottom, which lets more air through - little less resistant - me not likey so much.

Manual PT - big holes -too light of a draw for me.

Old Auto PT - way too big holes - way too light of a draw, gotta pull way too long, and fast.

Solutions if you wanna mess with your battery. Plug holes with gasket sealer or weld/solder them shut.

Or.

Wait till they come out with the newest batteries - coming soon (says Leaford).

Sorry, I guess I assumed it was auto because I've only ever heard aoutos complained about for this problem. You did write manual... brain fart! :)

You should be able to draw very lightly on a manual and get plenty of vapor as it's not suction dependent to turn it on. Put the battery on nice and snug. push the button and do a long (5 -10 sec.) light draw into your mouth. Then inhale. should be plenty good. I'm using a new regular sized manual with the large holes right now and getting great vapor. I'm also using a premium carto I filled myself.

I've never had a draw issue with a manual no matter the hole size. Unless the holes got plugged because I didn't keep it clean.

This is what you do with the manual batteries too. It is the air holes, has nothing to do if it is manual or auto. My manual shortie is way too airy, so I plugged two holes with a toothpick.

Airy draws have not been a problem for me, and all I use is manuals (PTs and batteries). At least not that I now know of. I did have a carto that I rinsed last week, which turned out to 'seem' like 'my' draw was too airy (relative to vapor output), but then I measured it and it was way over 3 ohms, I can't remember exactly, maybe 3.6 or 3.7 so I just threw it away.

Manuals are also better (imo) because when I want to, I can push the button one or two seconds before I even draw from it. Some people have posted that you can't draw like the way you used to with a cigarette, but I often do it many times. I don't know why, maybe I have the right flavor at the right strength, and learning the early button trick.

I've got one of the new batteries that has a less resistant draw. With that battery I directly inhale (which took a little getting used to) instead of what I consider to be a more traditional draw (like sucking on a straw and then inhaling).

I actually prefer the direct inhale — the TH is bigger and the vapor production is greater.

Just my 2¢.

That is good too. I also do that sometimes, but with the old carto that I mentioned, it was just too much air. I think the optimal resitance range is 2.7 to 3.1 ohms but I'm just guessing, so I moved on to the next carto no problem.
