Couple of woody noob battery questions....

Would 18500's fit?

If it's got to be 490's, are button top or flat preferred?

Does anyone know if these would suffice and/or what the amp rating is on them (I'm planning on building at 1 ohm in a RM2)?

Efest IMR18490 Chemically Safe Li-ion 3.7V 1100mAh Rechargeable Battery

Note that I'm in Canada and battery options appear to be limited (worried a bit about cross border shipping of bats).

Many thanks in advance.

The battery testing site shows it with the same curve to 3.7 volts as the AW IMR 18650 2000mah, But they only tested to 5 amps and did not test 7 or 10 amps. Which leads to me to believe it's a 5c , 5.5 amp max discharge battery.

Here's some AW 18490 from a Canadian vendor (I cannot vouch for the reputation of them) DashVapes - BATTERIES & CHARGERS - AW 18490 IMR 1100 MAH HIGH-DRAIN BATTERY. These look like the authentic AWs. You'll get 10C vs. the 5Amps of the Efests. EFests are 2nd best (IMO) to the AWs, but running 1ohm w/ the EFest is cutting it close (IMHO-YMMV).

ETA: Efest 18490 specs:

  • Nominal voltage 3.7V
  • High current rated
  • Lowest permitted discharge voltage - 2.5 V
  • Cycle life - 500 cycles
  • Max charging rate - 4.5 Amps
  • Max continuous discharge (8C)
  • Do not short circuit - High current will be discharged
  • Diameter: 18.0 +/- 0.5mm
  • Height: 49.0 +/- 0.5mm

Looks like EFest may be good enough for your needs.

Thanks so much for this. Just pulled the trigger on 4 of these (pricey little buggers) plus some kanthal and some drip tips (I'll be all ready for the new arrival). The efest c rating was just too low for my liking.
