lol BJ.....It's like harmony.....I gave my MVP to my brother in law a few months back and about a week ago he brought it to me because it wasn't working, and sure enough one of the two cells was bad.

The MVP uses weird sized cells and in general the MVP is kind of a pita to get apart. I looked at my battery collection for a minute, but then found a couple 1700mah cells that may fit with a DNA and some modding, so I gave up for the time being on restoring the MVP.

I still have it apart at home and will further investigate battery options.

A while back I saw a thread on how to take it apart but can't find it now. Don't think I have any RC batteries that will fit.

The DNA sounds interesting, somewhere I have a 12 and a 20 I have not used yet. It is getting harder and harder with this aging that doesn't stop.:)

I think I got it to where I could remove the screws holding the top pcb to the top plate and then unsoldered the 510 so the top plate was completely disconnected, then I could move things around a little so I could get everything to come out the bottom.

The DNA mod I was thinking about doing would be a pretty major mod. Its on the back burner for now.

A while back someone posted pics breaking down a MVP. Does anyone have links to this? If I remember correct there was a trick getting the buttons and meter out of the way and pushing the whole assembly out the top. No de soldering the 510 connecter.

Found it:

the mvp uses 2 batteries like this staggered to clear the board in there.

Turnigy 2200mAh 1S 20C Lipoly (Single Cell)

I don't think this accurate, I believe those cells are quite a bit larger than the factory MVP cells.

As you can see in the video the MVP has a 2200mah 1S2P pack using two 1100mah cells. The funny thing is, I believe the MVP was marketed as 2400mah
