So! Mail call! I got my wire, meshs, rba's and rda's all to use with my magneto. Question is HOW do I avoid the battery damage from over draining. I have a multimeter thing but let's be honest. It's Chinese too me. I don't know what setting to put it on and all that stuff. So once I figure out what the full charge number is, it'll be easy to find the end game number before I have to recharge... I just don't know what the heck to do to get an accurate full charge read. Help!

It would help if we knew which batteries and which meter you have. Different batteries have different ratings, and different meters have slightly different settings. For the meter I can tell you, that you want it set to measure DC voltage and at the lowest level that is still above 4.2 volts (might be 9v, 12v, or 20v depending on the meter).

Again, what brand and model of batteries do you have? What brand and model multimeter do you have?

Not all 18650's have the same minimum discharge voltage ratings, or the same mah ratings, or the same continuous discharge ratings.
Not all multimeters have the same settings and methods for setting those settings. Some require moving leads from one hole to another depending on what you are measuring, some do not.

Bottom line we cannot provide instructions for something, when we don't know what you have.

Not good enough, Sonny. We need the manufacturer and the model number.
YOU need to know the amp limit of the battery, which some of us can supply you once we know which batteries you have.

Battery Basics for Mods: IMR or Protected ICR?

Pretty sure I'm giving up on RBA's.. I just used a cheap crappy RDA and it works like 5 times better

Rebuildable tank atomizers, in particular the Genesis-style type, can be tricky just because of their setup design. Kayfun-style tanks are much easier and don't have the limitations of the Genny-style tanks. Focus on the RDA's for the time being, as they are easier for a novice.

I'm starting to feel the tingle on the back of my neck telling me something bad about to happen!

:facepalm::danger:

Well since I have two of the exact same battery and a multi meter you'd have to be dumb to think something will go wrong. I also have a innokin cool fire 2 which shows battery levels using different coloured lights (unless you think my IQ is so low that I can't determine the difference between green and red). One batteries full the other is being used. Once I feel it's getting low I'll check what the innokin says, then check the level with the multimeter and of course check the full one. Sorry I'm not using some super magical mathematical calculation to figure it out, it's the best I have. Don't go judging a pro-vaper who's LITERALLY asking for help, info, and advice. Ya douche.

And pro as in supportive, not professional.

To help explain this further in a final effort to get the information we need to be able to help, here is an example of what Baditude and I are asking for in a response:

My batteries are Panasonic NCR18650PD
My multimeter is a Scope brand model DVM-630

Ok, now we're getting somewhere so that we can offer some help.

The Efest batteries are fine, they are safe chemistry and high drain batteries. They will only have a 6 amp rating, so now you know that you can't do sub-ohm coils using those batteries. Got that?

The Trustfires you might as well just use them in a flashlight if you have one. That's all they are good for. They are a low-drain, non-safe-chemistry ICR Li-Ion battery. These should not be used in any mod.

You see, there is a good reason we asked what batteries you have. You could have blown off your face or hand.

There is a list of recommended 18650 mod batteries in the link I supplied earlier. Any of those 10 amp 18650 batteries will do for general purpose vaping. If you plan on doing sub-ohm in the future (once you really know what you are doing), get the 30 amp batteries in the list.

Wow!!! I'm not judging "pro-vaper".
Sorry if I came across as such.

I hope that you read up on the links given about bad batteries and what not do to, that is all we need. And dump the bad battery you have.

Hope its all work out good for you.

Cheers

So far so good! I won't use that li-ion trust fire since y'all said it was no good. I only bought it because I saw on some random thread that lithium ion batteries are a safer chemistry but who am I to argue that point. I'm using the efest v1 18350 800 mah right now and have another one coming in. Along with two 18500's; they're efest as well.
