Battery issue?

I'm using am efest 2000 mah imr 18650 3.7v li-mn battery in a smoktech variable volt gripper.

Last night i charged the battery overnight (about the 20th charge sinc i got it). I loaded the battery in the gripper and started clicking the gripper's power/reading button to turn the unit on. After three clicks of the five it takes to turn on i heard a click and it felt like the battery dropped a couple of mm inside the unit. I tried five clicks and the unit didn't power on. I removed the battery and replaced it and the same thing happened.

I'm assuming i tripped some kind of protection either in the battery or the gripper. This is the only battery i have for this unit at tis time. Any idea how i can know what the problem is and any possible remedies?

Im going to go back through the griper threads to see if i missed any similar discussion. Unfortunately i havent been able to get any pointers, or response, from the vendor.

Any help greatly appreciated.

I'm sorry I can't help ya, but for future purchases I would try a better vendor. I had a small issue with a new mod I purchased a vapor beast and not only did I get a response, I got a phone call from the owner to clear up the issue. Now that is customer service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
