Battery life help?

Just rebuilt my first rda. Dual coil on a Patriot measured at .9 ohms, on top of a Sentinel M-16. I am using UltraFire 18650 batteries, 4200mAh, 3.7V. My problem (I think) is I am only getting 20-30 hits out of each battery before it dies. The batteries fully charged are measuring 4.1V. I switch between lung and mouth hits so for question purposes, say I am 4-5 second lung hitting every time. I am new to mechanical mods and RDA building so my question is, is this battery life normal. This seems like short battery life to me but I am unsure. Is this normal? Thank you for any help provided.

Throw those firebombs out right away! get new IMR batteries right away before you blow those ultrafires up!!!!!

They are probably only rated at 3 amps, you are drawing 4.5 amps. They are tripping the protection until that fails then they go into thermal run away.

You need a 10 amp battery to run that coil. Imr or safe chemistry is absolutely the only Battery that should be used. If you even think about going to .5 you need an absolute minimum of a 15 amp rated battery. 20amp would make more sense.

Do some research to learn how to vape a mechanical mod at sub ohm.... you have a pipe bomb in your hand right now... It can be done safely.

Whoever set you up with that or recommended that should know better. Your about the lung hit fire.

Hello and welcome to the forum. Glad to have you here!:)

The batteries you are using are totally inappropriate for use in mods. They are Li-Ion batteries (suitable for flashlight use). Mods today require IMR (Li-Mn) or IMR/Hybrid safe-chemistry, high-drain batteries.

Any battery/charger with the name *fire* in it should be avoided.

For an education on mods and rebuildables I highly recommend you spend some time with Baditude (our resident battery expert) and visit his blogs. Baditudes Blogs. The blogs regarding mods and rebuildables are listed below:

BATTERIES - WHERE TO BUY

Only buy batteries from a reputable supplier (not ebay or Amazon) as there are many counterfeit batteries being sold. Here are several reputable battery suppliers in the US.

* RTD Vapor
* Illumination Supply
* Lighthound
* Orbtronics

Wow thanks everyone. Those batteries are in the garbage already. I will take the blame on this one and chalk it up to getting too big for my britches, too quick. I guess I need to do way more research. I spent all my time researching builds and did research basic electrI city and ohms law. I did not research batteries enough I suppose. Well, back to my EVO for the night. I will be a battery expert by morning. Hahaha, thank you again.
