Just bought this regulated mod because I bought the new bvc coils for my nautilus and felt that I wasn't getting the full potential of the coil on my MVP2. I'm using 1.8 ohm coil. My question is and sorry if I sound like an idiot but why on a full charge 18650 or 18350 when set at 15 watts the actual watts showing when I hit the fire button is around 11 watts? and drops quickly down after that, regardless if in rms or mean mode.

Correct me if I'm wrong but from my understanding from what I've been reading on here is that the 4.2 volt battery 18650 or 18350 is not enough to hit the full 15 watts so the mod will not allow it is this correct?

any recommendation on how I call hit the 15 watts as it seems like a waste if it can not.

You can ask more questions at the Sigelei Zmax V3 and V5 thread just below. The rigs have the same electronics. You need a high drain single battery to hit the full 15 watts and preferably an 18650, not a single 18350. With good batteries the best 15W performance will come from using 2x18350. Some users report getting more than 15W that way.

So the sigelei batteries that came in the box are junk I'm guessing
The Sigelei batts are big unknowns. Nobody has specs on them. I usually recommend buying Sigelei Zmax in a body only deal for this reason. The chargers included in kits are of limited value, too. Unfortunately, crappy batteries and chargers provided in kits is industry-wide and not just Sigelei.

Bought my sigelei Zmax from esmokercanada. I'm just wondering, its a telescoping but doesn't look like the v5 model. It's more smooth with vertical indents on the bottom tube screws like the v2. The v5 from my understanding has horizontal lines.

I'd like to post a photo but for some reason it won't let me. Is it possible to have a v2 with telescoping I was under the impression the v2 was a solid tube.

V2 is solid tube only. Here is a V2.

V3 and V5 (there is no V4) are identical in appearance until the display lights up. Both are telescopic tube mods. V3 and V5 come in two styles. These are tube styles and have nothing to do with flat top and button top batteries. V3 and V5 use both flat top and button top batteries.

Round top:

Here is a Sigelei Zmax V5 on the left, an early V3 in the center and a second generation V3 on the right. All are the flat top style.

I read somewhere that the V5 has an amp limit of 2,5 with the 18650. If this is true, your max watts would be 11.25 or 11 as read on the screen and 4.14 volts. To get full power, stacked and matched 18350's would have to be used. The from a noob vaper, so, probably should do more research.

jeremyR nailed the answer. Zmax has a 2.5A limit with single batteries.

A 4A limit applies with stacked batteries allowing 15W.

What batteries are you using? I'm thinking the battery is defective and can't be boosted enough to get to your desired 15 watts.

If you're using a 1.8ohm on it, 15 watts is about 5.2volts and the zmax v2 can go upto 6 volts.

I'm using the sigelei battery that came with the starter kit.

The one I have looks like the v2 but is telescopic. I email sigelei, if there was a way to tell if its a fake they stated an authentic one will say sigelei on the screen when powered up which mine does and has the serial number engraved on the bottom cap which mine does as well.
