hello,
i would like to ask if anybody has the same issue,or if they know what kind of current these ICR batteries are capable of?
my problem is that no matter what resistance load i put on the zmax with the stock batteries i only get up to 12,5 watts in the 15 watt setting with freshly charged batteries and then even this fairly quickly falls to about 11 watts as the battery falls below 4 volts.
Why would they put such batteries in a device that they market as 15 watt capable?are they really so gulable to save a few dollars...
I dont currently have any other batteries with a higher drain capability,so i am also asking advice about buying good ones...havent been on the forum for awhile but are AW IMR still the best or should i also be looking at the panasonic/orbtronic ones?

Thank you very much,
hf vaping

In the real world of Chinese-made tube mods very few brands include top quality batteries in their kits. In fact, I can't think of any that do this.

If you want 15 watts from the Sigelei using a single battery go with AW IMR 18650 or equivalent.

The dark blue 18650 generic batteries that came with my Sigelei Zmax Telescopic V3 kit are not marked IMR or ICR. I assume theyt they are IMRs, though. They will hit 15 watts.

Tnx for the reply,

I know they are not top quality batteries, but top quality batteries these days put out 10 amps or more,i assumed that the generic ones would at least put out 4 amps which is the limit of the device anyway and that would run 15 watts on everything possible as the device is also limited to 6V, so the voltage should be the limiting factor. This is a major thumbs down for Sigelei,as according to my calculations they put a 2 amp battery in their device that should run up to 4A.
They do not have any chemical structure labeling, but Sigelei says they are ICR...maybe your v3 came with IMR
Chinese or not, this cant be accepted, you cant market a car as having 250 hp and then find out half the valves dont work...

Anyway one more question, this is my first vaping device with 18xxx batteries and i only have their included charger for these, i suppose i need a new charger aswell if i buy IMR/panasonic hybrid batteries,as this one pumps out 1000mA and i have read that most batteries say the charger should not exceed 700mA?

I don't think a 1 amp charger is optimal if you want the maximum number of charge cycles from a battery. I have the same single cell 1 amp charger from Sigelei and use it on 18650s once in a while, usually for travel. It does charge an 18650 fast. Nitecore or Xtar chargers are good and will charge at lower current.

But apart from maybe shortening the battery life a little, you had no other issues?like overcharging or fire:)
what batteries did you use AW?
the thing is i am pretty stuck with this charger for a while, since in my little country shops mostly just sell Ego and Ego-likes,so i have to buy these things online(was thinking about nitecore i2 or i4,cheap and well reviewed) and that takes time, while a new battery i might get somewhere...
tnx

I'm having the same problem with the white/blue Sigelei 18650 battery that came with my Zmax V5. I can't get it to run any more than about 2/3-1/2 of it's capable output. Obviously, I need to get some better batteries. Questions:
1. Should I bee looking for the highest Mah (I realize this is purely runtime) or high amp capable 18650?
2. Is it safe to stack two 18350's in the Zmax min order to gain amp output?
3. Does everyone's Zmax automatically shut down after about 10 seconds on the button while vaping or is this a function of the battery/protect circuit of the MOD?
Thank in advance!

I use 18500 (1100 mAh) most of the day. The Sigelei Telescopic and carto tank still fits easily in my jeans pocket this way. My next most popular battery is 18650 (2000mAh) and I use these only at home. Once in a while I use 18350 when I want the smallest size possible from the Sigelei. I vape at less than 8W and have no need for 2x18350. I use Efest IMR batteries. The Sigelei uses either flat or button top batteries. AW and Efest IMRs are capable of producing the full 15W from the Sigelei Zmax models but you do need 2x18350 for 15W.

Yep, I definitely have to get some better batteries! With a FULLY charged (4.2v) Sigelei 2200mAh ICR LiCoO2 18650 (supplied in the kit I purchased), my Zmax will only achieve 5.1 watts when set at 15 (just to see what she'll do)!! Maxes out at 1.4 amps or 3.7 volts. Running a 2.5 ohm coil
