It is highly recommended you do not purchase batteries from Ebay or Amazon in order to just save a couple bucks. Batteries are not the area to gamble with and are critical to a safe vaping experience. Buy from a reputable vendor. There are indeed rampant counterfeits on Ebay and Amazon. Just don't do it.

Batteries - RTD vapor

Illumn.com - Flashlights, Batteries, Carry Gear, Intelligent LED Lighting, and More!

Batteries - Lithium, Li-Ion, IMR, NiMH, Alkaline; Battery Chargers; Battery Carriers

It will work and is a good battery, but, it is a rewrapped 20amp cdr battery, not 35a cdr.
I wouldn't buy batteries off amazon or eBay, stick with reputable vendors/ dealers.

I agree with both points above.

The purple Efest 18650 2500mah (advertised) 35 amp battery is a rewrapped LG18650HE2 2500mah 20 amp battery. Efest is using the pulse rating and not the continuous discharge rate. Pretty deceptive in my opinion. :glare: It won't make a difference in a regulated mod like the VTR, only in a mechanical mod.

Thanks, all. I may be stuck with it. The regulated mod adds some level of protection, doesn't it?

I wouldn't sweat being "stuck" with that battery, it's perfectly acceptable for use in that mod, and for a lot of other applications. It really is a fine battery, it's just that overstating its capabilities could steer someone down the wrong path, more so when looking for a battery for sub-ohm vaping and use in high power mods.

In the VTR, it will work just like it's supposed to.

It's a good battery as said. The discrepancy in the amp rating only comes into concern for someone using this battery for sub-ohm vaping in a mechanical mod with a rebuildable atomizer; it would give a false sense of security to someone requiring a very high amp battery when in reality its just better than average.

Have confidence that this battery will be a very good performer in the VTR.
