I'm not sure if it's the battery to blame or the charger. Just pulled a battery off a charger after an hour. I was surprised the light had not changed to green. I put it on the multimeter and it read a 4.6! I assumed it was the charger so I ordered a trustfire tr01. Was I right in thinking that it was the charger that was faulty instead of the battery?

Is the battery a protected Li-Ion?
If so, then there is no way you can get over 4.2 volts unless the little circuit board in the battery is bad.
On the other hand, there is no way that a Li-Ion charger should ever supply over 4.2 volts to a battery.
To get a reading of 4.6 volts(way high), the battery AND the charger would have to be defective.
Therefore, I suspect that you may be using a bad volt meter or are using it incorrectly.

AW IMRs don't have a protection circuit board to protect it from an over voltage condition.
This means that the charger has to be putting out over 4.6 volts(way high), this is dangerous.
Did you check the charger voltage?
Alright, glad I caught it on time then. And I didn't think of checking the charger voltage, I just trashed it and bought the new one off amazon.

I appreciate your comments!

Just remember, for all 3.7v Lithium batteries:
The battery voltage should never be over 4.2v.
No charger should ever supply more than 4.2v to the battery.
My Pila charges to exactly 4.15v and then stops charging, NO trickle charging(very important).
It doesn't take much to turn these batteries into little bombs.
Be careful out there.
