I have a VV wooden mod that I use "pairs" of 18350 AW IMR batteries in. The batteries are marked and always used/charged as a pair. I use a Pila charger. I try to swap the battery position occasionally as I use them so one isn't always closest to the atty.

Lately, I've had one pair start to drift apart on charged values. These batteries have less than 20 cycles on them, but one is coming off at 4.13 and the other at 4.17.

My question is: How far apart do you let them go before tossing them?

this may be terrible advice and i'd want someone much more knowledgeable than me to chime in before i tried it, but:

20 cycles is nothing, and the batteries should charge to 4.19 on the pila. have you tried hitting the reset button while they're in the charger and seeing if it will get them to the proper charge?

Well, as I said in the original post--these are used in a variable voltage wooden mod. I try to swap their positions occasionally during use so one isn't always closest to the atty to even out the discharge. Typically, they end up within a few points off (3.75 & 3.71 for example) But, depending on how many times I do so, one may have discharged further. Probably the biggest discharge differences I can remember was 3.5 & 2.9.

But to be honest, I'm not even sure if it was this particular set of batts that wound up that far apart. I have three pairs that I rotate through the mod. Most are either even or one point off (ex 4.18 & 4.19) when they come off the charger. This particular pair caught my attention when they were farther apart than that and have remained so for four cycles now.

They haven't moved any further apart yet and seem to be performing well. I'm just wanting to keep on top of it if the trend continues.

Thanks for your input.
