Most 18350 batteries are between 700-800mAh. You can get an AW 18490 (interchangeable with an 18500) with 1200mAh (which is one of the highest capacities in a good quality battery around), so you will notice a significant difference in the battery life between the two.

Size wise, the difference is 14mm which is a shade over 1/2 inch.

An 18350 like the AW IMR 18350 is generally in the 700 to 800mah range and about the 5ish amp CDR range so generally do not last that long on a charge, especially when around a single Ohm resistance.
An 18490/18500 has a bit more mah and CDR and will generally last a bit longer as well handle a high sub-ohm resistance, 0.8 to 1full ohm better than a 350.

Both I would suggest authentic AW IMR, and nothing really wrong with either, just they do not handle high discharge abuse as well as many of the 18650s on the market, and you will need more of them to keep rotation going. Many European vapers I notice like both types of mods due to asthetics and I believe discreetness of them.

The CDR continuous discharge rate expressed in amps & mAh will be different.
CDR determines the safe resistance range a battery can be used in, mAh gives an estimate of battery in between recharging.
Hey Topwater Elvis, thanks for the reply, just looking at the Steam Engine website to compare...

Thanks for the reply InTheShade. I'm using the AW18350 battery in my mod. There is an extender available to take 18500. Just to clarify, would the AW18490 fit?

Thanks for the reply IMFire3605. I'm using the AW18350 (800mah) in my mod. At 2 Ohm/9watts, it gives around 20 minutes. I would like to increase this a bit. I like a discreet mod to stealth vape at work :)

Hey guys, is there a discernible difference between a 18350 and and 18500 battery?
I'm considering buying a mechanical mod extender.
Thanks in advance, Kev.

Yeah, it's definitely about puff time, battery life. A look at Kidney Punchers Batter Test will give you at least an idea.

I've always enjoyed all the formats. Still run some carto tanks in 350 mode for that subtle cool impression with some tobacco's. Particularly Tribeca. The 490's are my favorite for a balance of power and cool performance. Perhaps as my first authentic regulated was the venerable ZNA. Right now a third of my collection is made up of 490/500 setups reg and mech.

Good luck Kev.

:)
