battery playing dead?

i have a 510. and fully charged with atty off if i push the button it lights up bright but with atty on its very dim as though almost dead. does anyone know why?

I'm wondering if it's an atty problem and not a battery problem. How old is the battery and atty?

Edit: do you have another atty or a carto to try on that battery?

i have 2 atties and 3 batteries. it happens with both manual batteries/atties but not the auto battery. it can work with either atty. the auto battery is a month old disposable btw everything else is less than 2 weeks old.

Clean them with rubbing alcohol and Q-tips lately?
That works on mine most of the time. Sometimes you just get a bad one.

Are you mixing disposable and non-disposable parts?

Not supposed to do that - they may be different electrically.

when i bought the disposable it said everything except the charger are interchangable that was the only reason i bought it
