Something happened that I don't understand.
I've had a sigelei 20W for a while, with 2 LG 18650 HE2 batteries. Its been great. I've got a LUC charger.
The batteries come off the charger at around 4.2V. I use them for a while and they go down to around 3.2V, at which point I get the Low Battery warning and swap them out. A battery tends to last me for several days because I only use it at 8.0 watts and I have a Spinner for daytime use at work.
A few days ago I picked the Sigelei up in the morning and it was dead. Tried turning it on but nothing happened. As near as I can remember it was showing Low Battery the previous night. Normally I turn it off before I go to bed but sometimes I forget. Took the battery out and popped a charged one in and it was fine.
When I put the first battery in the charger it showed 2.2V. Ive never seen it go below 3.2V before. It charged up to around 3.2V quickly, around 20 minutes, and then charged all the way to 4.2V in a normal length of time.
Ive used the battery through a couple of complete cycles since then. It starts at 4.2V and goes down to 3.2V and gives me the Low Battery warning. Then it goes back in the charger and shows 3.2V. I tried leaving it in for a few hours after it reached the Low Battery point and it didnt go down any further. Everything seems normal.
Im trying to figure out if I have a battery problem, or if I have a problem at all. Is there any normal situation where a battery could drain down to 2.2V? Like if it was already low and I left the Sigelei turned on overnight. I'm guessing it shouldn't draw any power in that situation.
Anyone got any ideas?
