I have had battery problems since I first got my kit about 4 months ago. I now have 2 short and 3 XL. I keep switching them all out. They all hold a charge but the button seems to be going on all of them. Have to press it down a few times to get it to do anything. But it really isnt a big deal to me. Like I said I just play the switch the battery game and it works for me. I also only use them when I go out. I use my other mods when Im home. I wish they would carry the VGO 808 version and I would be all over it!

lynn, what is the best way to store batts? ive heard that storing them fully charged is bad? does it matter? ive got 10 batts and dont want them to die in storage. any advice would be appreciated.

I have enough batts to rotate out my vaping spots plus several hot spares. All are charged all the time but if I don't use one for a quite a while, (because I forgot about it), I charge it anyway. They have been holding up extremely well.

They can hold a charge for a looong time.

Well for starters you could quit all the drama over the issue and simply buy some more batts since they are not meant to last forever. Not trying to mean or anything, it's just that we ask a lot out of these little batts, juice on the connections...shorting, multiple rechargings, etc. I have 2 standard autos that are just about done and they are 50 days old, so I just placed an order at 22% off for a few more.

If you don't already have one get P/T and 12v usb adapter so your new batts last longer.

Good luck

I am sorry and I am sure I am going to start some sort of crap storm here but I don't see how saying that someone should "quit all the drama" is appropriate. $17+ for a battery is alot of money for some people and it should certainly last more than 45 days! My understanding is a battery is supposed to last approxmately 6 months. So telling someone to just go out and buy another one is a bit insensitive. If a battery doesn't work, it doesn't work and it should be replaced. Just my two cents.

I have always been told that a battery should last for 200 charges..more or less. So it would depend on how many times you charge it. They seem to last a longer time if you have more then one or 2 batts to rotate.
I quit using autos because the liquid (any liquid from any dealer) will seep down into the battery and gum up the works. I much prefer the manuals because they are sealed and the on off switch is a button not your draw on it.

It's pretty simple realy. Quite a few people have said the auto batteries have a tendency to stay on so you only have 3 choices. Either use autos and put up with them sticking on, or when they do stay on un screw your atty which sounds like a pain, or #3 and the best option get manuals and get on with you vaping enjoyment. :):):)

Knocking a bit of the surface charge off before long-term storage might be ideal, but for these short-lived devices, it really doesn't matter. Just charge it up and toss it in a drawer. Remember that it will self-discharge over time, so if we're talking years here they should be recharged every two or three months. The inexpensive chemistry in these batteries will degrade over time.

5card - I have no problems with autos. But it might also be that I don't abuse 'em.

$17 might seem expensive for a battery if it lasts for sixty days. That, of course, is a tax on people who are bad at math. $0.28/day. How does that compare to a pack of cigarettes where you are? For me, a pack of cigarettes is half the cost of a new battery. Even if I replace my batteries every month and vape 2.5ml/day, I'm saving 60+% over cigarettes. But that logic is never popular here.

I had a USB manual passthrough that did this same problem, it just stay on even when not pressing the button, of course it had to be plugged in the USB but still it would just keep on heating it self up till it was hot to the touch. This was a bit ago but V4L got it fixed, V4L always does their best to fix issues we may have! But anyways I think it has to do with the wiring inside either one not being grounded right or 2 the wire that switches on and off is touching the wire it is suppose to trigger constantly.

Regardless of how much an individual saves in comparison to cigarettes, that doesn't excuse the fact that the product failed. If you got a car that saved you $10,000 in comparison to other cars, but then had to replace parts on the car every 3 weeks cuz they kept falling apart; it kind of defeats the purpose of saving money doesn't it? I would rather pay the same amount I did for cigarettes and not have my batteries die on me when I need them. And for a addition note, we don't all smoke/vape the same here. I was never a pack a day guy. A pack of analogs would last me at least a week. Because I buy WOWjuice and am constantly trying new flavors to determine what I need to make sure I keep in stock, I spend well over what I used to in cigarettes on a monthly basis. On top of that, I am a college student severely in debt, so yes, when 2 $17 batteries crap out on me out of nowhere and I am told I'm SOL because I bought them over 45 days ago, I am kind of upset. I love this company and what they have done for me, but when I have to purchase new batteries and have 2 dead ones sitting in my kitchen, I am a little more cautious about what I put in my next order. Sorry if this was a rant, but I needed to clarify some things.

>> not being grounded right

In which case it wouldn't actuate at all

>> the wire that switches on and off is touching the wire it is suppose to trigger constantly

No such wires exist in the device.

Maybe you misunderstood what I meant, but yes there is a wire like that, the battery power wire has to go to the activation switch and then from that to the connector, what I meant from what I said before was that the wire could be out of place or touching the one from the battery to the connector, and bypassing the switch.

Are there links to these types of demonstrations?

There are a lot of videos on youtube Dr. Vapor did a whole series of them on cartomizers that are good.

I prefer autos too but I had to give them up, except for work, when I started DIY and filling myself, because I did kill batteries by overfilling. Liquid in autos will kill them (of course I just had an ego manual button stick and kill it also -but it is rarer).

For work I fill my cartomizers the night before - and after letting them sit a while -
clean the connections and then I take a few puffs on each with my manual passthrough before packing them up - just to be sure there are no drips left that will get down into my autos.

I resent the it when people quote a single item like battery prices and put on a superior act and say you are saving money with vaping. Not living in NY or CA I never met one person who saved money by vaping. Between batteries, mods, passthroughs, atomizers, cartomizers, carts, chargers, adapters, nic-juice, e-juice, flavorings, sweeteners, vg, pg, bottles, organizers etc, etc - I have spent more then 5 times as much in the 4 months since I have quite smoking then I ever did in the same time frame as a smoker, and have never met a vaper yet that has saved anything. Oh, I know it is possible, buy one decent kit with a guarantee, and carts, stick with one flavor e-juice, fill yourself - I just never met anyone who was that disciplined with all of our new toys and flavors offered,

As I've detailed on this sub-forum numerous times over the last year - if you buy quality batteries and moderately priced juice and stop there, it's nigh impossible to vape enough not to save over the cost of cigarettes. I've broken that math down many many times.

>> I just never met anyone who was that disciplined with all of our new toys and flavors offered

I resent when people who have no self control assume that applies to everyone.
