battery problems

I have been using E cigs for 2 months now and this forum has helped me a lot.
This post probably does not belong here but it is my first post and I believe this is where I am to start (so here goes). I have been building the Magnum flashlight mod and it didnt work so I bypassed the led and still nothing. I then bypassed the switch and also nothing. So for kicks I wired the 901 connector straight to the two cr2 (15270) Ultrafire batteries in series and still nothing.
It does work if I wire the connector to just one cr2. I am confused about why it does not work with both batteries. I am just hoping someone can tell me what I am doing wrong.

Hi j. Must have a circuit interruption between the 2 batts. Are they both alive? Put a tester on them one at a time and see if they both register a charge. If so then they're not making contact with each other is all I can figure.

Both batteries alone are checking out but put them together and I get nothing.
I cleaned both ends of the batteries with some 600 grit sand paper just incase something was causing them not to make a good connection and still nothing.
I am at a loss. Maybe I will order 2 more and see if its just something wrong with the batteries. its the only 2 cr2s I have.
