my don came in the mail today , i love it works great and just feels right in the hand . will only imr 18350's work in mini mode . i have one 800 mah imr 18350 that works great but the other 1200 mah blue ultra fires that i purchased from madvapes awhile back are too long even with the adjustment screw backed out all the way . are all the protected 18350's too long for the don ?

I use IMRs. They fit well and perform great. I have tried 2 different protected ones and they do not fit.

after using the imr 18350 i could care less about the fact the ones i have from madvapes dont fit . im getting far better performance out of the imr than i ever did with the protected ones . and the useable battery life on the imr is much longer too even with the lower mah rating , i will be ordering more imr's for sure . luckily all my 18650 batteries are imr's

For people that don't yet have IMR 18350 cells or are who are unwilling to buy them because they already have 18350's, pick up an o ring that will fit on the threaded portion of the switch assembly. It will give the appropriate clearance that is needed to use protected or longer 18350's. The o ring can be left in place when you use 18650 batteries as well. When you have the o ring installed on the threads simply unlock the switch on your don and tighten the threads up as far as you can. It will compress the o ring enough that it will hold the switch in place when you lock and unlock the switch for pocket or purse storage. I hope that my o ring trick helps. ElectronicStix should add a note to the Don description that use of an o ring will be necessary when using certain protected 18350 cells due to their longer length. Or they could include an o ring for optional user installment...
