Hi all, hope somebody can help me with this one..

I have recently purchased a totally wicked 510 titan tank compact e-cig and although the vapour is way way better than my trusty old EEC Super the battery seems to be totally useless. It came with a super battery 340mAh re-chargeable lithium battery (automatic operation) but needs to be recharged after just a few hours use. Is this normal or is my battery just trashed?

Any help appreciated.

Regards

Andy.

Hey Andy. With a 340 mah hour battery, I probably would not get any more time than this. The battery simply is too small to last as long as you wish. That's the problem with the little stick looking models. You will soon want to get a larger battery to power your device; here on the forums you will find MANY recommendations. The Riva or a similar model will provide you with what you are looking for, is not too large, and not too expensive, though it has many competitors in all price ranges. Look around and read, search the internet for the various brands as you read about them, and make your decision.

Your battery would be a 3.7 volt model. Any 3.7 volt battery should give you the same smoking experience. Just make sure that the larger battery has 510 threading so that your other parts will interchange.

If your battery is lasting 3-4 hours it is probably OK. If you don't like the idea of a larger battery, simply get another battery or two like you already have.

Yeah, anything bigger than what you have will, at the very least, have the size of a cigar. That's not all bad, even with a cigar you get very used to them. A small 650 mah battery won't be any longer, and will fit in the palm of your hand, and will last you most of the day. It won't dangle from the lips very well, though.

I've just ordered a tornado tank from totally wicked - i'm guessing its a rebrand of an e-cig that most people here will know - interestingly it comes with manual batteries which will take some getting used to from me.

Not a bad choice. You get the batteries you need that will last far longer, and you get to try the tank systems. They are just rebranded ego-T units. If you ever want to try something besides a tank, they have 510 threading on the batteries. The options for the 510 are greater than anything else out there, plus it can use all the ego options and accessories. Happy vaping!

Andy, try a Tornado/eGo battery. The standard ones are 650mAh and will easily last you twice as long as your Titan battery, and they really aren't all that much longer. The "mega" version of those batteries are in the vicinity of 1000mAh (varies a little by vendor) and will last three times as long as your Titan batt, but are also a little bit longer in size.

When I got rid of my old Super and started vaping full-time, I upgraded to a Tornado and got most of the day out of a single battery, and while they're a little thicker than the ciggie look-alikes they really aren't so much bigger that you'll even give it a thought after you've had a day or two to get used to it

Make sure whatever you get has a 510 connection (or that you get an appropriate adapter) and you'll be able to use all of you existing atomizers with it

If you get a model that has an 1800 mAh battery and also has "regulated boost circuit" technology, you can get 21+ hours on a charge for "heavy" vapers, as I am, and have no drop off in performance due to battery drain. But it won't look like a cigarette. So if looks are most important to you, the model you currently have is probably your best option since it is closer to looking like the real thing.

Killjoy1 - That's exactly what I wanted to hear - you got almost a full day out of a tornado. I'm trying to dump the real smokes and curently having a battery that dies after a few hours really isn't helping. The tank system on the current 510 compact is awesome - way more vapour than my old ecc super so I thought finally I had found a decent alternative to expensive real smokes - its just the battery that lets ot down sadly.

Scalewiz - the 510 titan I have uses a tank system too but sadly the batery runs out way before the tank is dry. - Its a neat system though and provides shed loads of vapour, only let down by lousy battery life. Hopefully the Tornado will help on that score!

Thanks for the replies and advice guys!!!

Are you using the atty and tank that came with it? Or something else on it? If you are using something else then what are the ohms?

340mah should give 3.4 hours of moderate vaping with standard resistance attachments and anything it came with should be standard resistance because slim batteries should only use standard resistance. So its own tank atty should be standard res unless they screwed up and gave you an LR tank atty.

In general though - even standard resistance has a range. A battery using something at the low end of standard resistance (like a 2.5ohm atty) will use up its charge faster than the same or similar battery using something closer to the high end of standard resistance (like a 3 ohm atty)

Is this an auto battery? And if so, have you leaked any juice onto the end of it? if so, that can cause the drag switch the be sticky and turn off slowly. Also wind or vibration can cause sometimes auto batteries to trigger accidentally.

And BTW - never charge a normal 510 or Ego in a 510-T charger. So if you ever get any other 510-threaded things, labelt he 510-T charger at the threaded end on both sides so you don't accidentally put any non-T batteries in it. it can fry them.

I have no idea what EEC Super is so I can't compare their batteries.

Hi dormouse and thanks for the advice regarding not confusing the chargers for tank and non tank 510 batteries - very handy to know!

For info the ECC Super is the same as this model Super Electronic Cigarette Accessories / E Cigarettes and E Liquid from Totally Wicked which I'm guessing is just another rebranded version of yet another model. It's lasted ok over the years but doesnt compare to the 510 tank. It was ok for nights out where I couldn't smoke etc but the 510 tank is the first model that I have owned that is a viable alternative to smoking at all.

Once again thanks for all the tips and advice guys and gals - much appreciated!

Yeah, the 510-Tank/Titan Tank is a great piece of gear. Better flavor production on that than on the Tornado variety, but I still use both of those atomizers once in a while. I think you'll be happy with your purchase

Thanks, I am loving it so far. I have the brushed steel battery and vapo that came with my kit but have just ordered a spare black battery and black vapo so as long as I make sure at least one battery has a full charge things should be fine.
I have also ordered a Tornado tank which I believe is a rebranded ego tank (?) which I can keep at home for indoor use (battery life should be much more capable for home use) and the titan (510) will be my 'out and about' e-cig because it's actually a very nice looking piece of kit (especially in brushed steel), fits nicely in a shirts front pocket and looks no more out of place than a pen!

Yep, most of TW's products are genuine Joye products re-branded for the distributor. I've been a regular TW customer since last winter, before I'd fully switched over from smoking to vaping. I still get 90% of my juices from them (I mostly mix DIY and buy their flavor concentrates, I love the Decadent Vapors stuff in case you can't tell from my sig :p).

If you run into any trouble with your Tanks, don't be afraid to PM me for advice. I've been using them most of the time I've been vaping (only occasionally now, but they used to be my go-to gear) and am always willing to help out :2cool:

Happy vaping!

Thaks killjoy I may hassle you via pm in future.
I'm still eagerly awaiting my Tornado's arrival because the Titan even with the mega battery is driving me nuts already - the vapor is excellent however it's not much use at home when sat in front of the pc or tv chilling out or even in the pub if I intend to be there for more than a few hours (and when it comes to pubs I'm usually there till they throw me out lol).
My so called 'Mega' battery seems to spend just as long on charge as it does attached to a cartridge - hopefully it's just a duff battery and you dont have to charge the battery for the same amount of time (or longer) as you puff!

Batteries are available in so many sizes and styles these days that you just have to pick size and battery life and decide how much length you are willing to carry.

I just got my first Ego-T 1000mah batt today and it feels l-o-n-g. Compared to the half dozen Ego and Riva batts I have, it IS long, but I'll get used to it and probably will grow to love the all day capacity. I'm thinking right now that the 1000 will be a home battery and I'll still carry an extra Ego 650 when i go out. They all have their place.

The 1000 is 3 3/4" long and by the time I add a 510 adapter to the 801 Little Dwarf drip atomizer, the whole package measures 6". For comparison, a Riva/Ego 650 batt is 2 3/4", so we are only talking an extra inch for 8 or 9 hours vape time.

Just a quick update, My Tornado Tank (Ego-T rebranded I believe) arrived today. Initially I wasn't impressed, seemed to produce less vapour and almost no throat hit compared to the titan-t (510 tank).
After a few hours use however the vapour production is through the roof (boy can this thing can make clouds!!) however the throat hit is still down on the 510 tank versions but being me I tested a theory..

Using a 510 tank vapo and cartridge on the Ego/Tornado wham - throat hit is back so it's either the vapo thats causing it or more likely to my mind the shape or design of the cartridge. I may try some hong kong fooey diy on a 510 tank cartiridge to jam it into a ego/tornado and report back...

Stay tuned!
