Battery Question

So, one of my mini autos seems to have stopped working. It's fairly new so I doubt it died of natural causes. When hooked up to a charger, the green light indicates it's fully charged. But when hooked up to a carto, the tip doesn't light and, worst of all, no vapor.

It's sounds like there's something loose rattling around inside, so I'm guessing I might've dropped it--klutziness is something I've mastered.

Anyway, is there any way to find out what the issue is or perhaps fix it? Or should I just prepare a eulogy for it?

I would suggest if it is within 30 days of purchase you call CS. If you know electronics then open it up. The inner workings are very simple. If neither of these apply then as a last ditch effort I would drop it a few more times to see if you can jolt it back from the dead... worked with one of mine. Otherwise I would say RIP and order a new one. I ordered 3 and one died 2 months in but the other 2 are going 6 months+ so its worth the money for the life span of most of them

Thanks for the response, prometheus. It's certainly past the 30 days and it was probably user error so I wouldn't want to bother CS about it. Luckily I've got four other batteries that are fully operational--three on rotation and one on standby.

Tinkering with it is an option though, just in case I can get it working again. Can't hurt as otherwise it would just be headed for the trash bin. Do you happen to know how to open the tube without wrecking it?

The only way I know to open it is by removing the ash cap. Under that you will see the LED board with a couple of wires. I think if you removed that and the seal behind it you may be able to get to the rest but not sure. I have never actually had to take one apart and even if I did its unlikely I would know what I was doing anyway lol.

my 'ash cap' fell off of one of mine (me clumsy too) and I was surprised to see how small the LED was. But anyway, even if you can take the little green board with the light out, you're not gonna have much room to mess around in there. So unless you're into micro-surgery, it would probably be too aggrivating. I'd toss it if it were mine.
