I have been using a VV Hogmod and VV Grip, which require 2 18350 batts, stacked. I always use AW IMR batts. I have some flat top IMR's coming( thought they were button tops). I have been getting varied opinions on whether or not it's safe to use a secured magnet spacer between them. Some say it's fine and it's done all of the time, some say I'm taking a chance with something very serious by doing that.

I don't know what to do. I take good care of my batteries and mods. Should I use these batts or not?

Well that's the key. In a tube mod I guess a magnet could slip while you were installing them, but with an open wood mod it should be quite easy to see if they are installed properly. And just inspect the battery's shrink wrap now and then.

BTW I been using magnets for quite a while.

Thanks, Switched and Willy for your help! I think I will be comfortable using these as described. It was suggested to me to make a disk shaped thingie of wood or plastic(same diameter as batt) with a hole cut in the middle for the magnet. When it would be inserted between batts, it would prevent the magnet from being dislodged. I thought it was a great idea for an extra safeguard.
