Battery question

Anyone know why my flat top IMR 18350 800mAh 3.7 don't show charged on my charger?
When I leave it on there it must be charging because its not dead when I use it.
I don't have any problems with any other batteries

THat is odd. My somewhat educated guess would be that battery has some sort of circuit that is restricting the inflow of power once it reaches a certain level of charge so that the charger is forced to trickle charge the rest of the way. This would make it take longer to charge and still show charging when other 18350s are complete. Or the over charge protection on the circuit is fubarred in which case the batt could blow if left unattended too long. but those are just my thoughts on the matter.

I bought two batteries this style and both do it.

What kind of charger? What brand are the batteries?

Whenever in doubt, use a multimeter to check the voltage output of the charger. If at any time it is over 4.2 volts, do not use it to charge the IMR batteries. If it charges your batteries, then the charger may be defective and not be properly ending the charge. You can use the meter and check the voltage across the batteries while charging; when it rises to 4.2, the charger should stop charging. If the voltage continues to rise above this point, your batteries will be damaged. Until you are sure, don't leave your batteries in the charger continuously, unattended.
