Yeah... Flushing out an Auto Battery is a Last Resort.
But Last Resort can be Out of Money and your Last Battery Just Died.
Thanks to everyone for the advice I have another auto and a manual I also do have a lava tube (just came in the mail not 2 days ago!!) but i feel a bit awkward carrying it around in public 
but I've been cleaning everything about once or twice a week depending on what kind of mood im in lol.... I threw the shorted battery out because I'm not all that confident in my ability to fiddle with electronics i feel like if i do i will end ip looking like Einstein 
. I have been looking into the ego twist after my other batteries take a dirt nap..... I really wish I would have found this website before I bought a crap starter kit lol but that's a lesson learned I guess

Generally!
Slow charging is better for the battery. (More experience than other proof)
Us it until the battery is almost dead then recharge it. If you keep charging a Ni-cad before it hits almost dead it will develop a memory and will die sooner. Lithium and Ni-MH batteries dont care about this so much.
Charge it fully and remove it from the charger.
Keep it cool.
Keep the contacts clean as contaminants can cause a short or poor battery contact.
Never just leave a battery in the charger. Batteries will only charge and discharge so many times. Leaving it in the charger can cause it to dip- charge-dip- charge using up that battery life quickly. Im a former Ham radio operator and Hams become battery gurus or they spend a lot of money on batteries.
Oh if you have a plastic cap for the contacts when not in use be sure to use it. I once had a radio battery melt in my pocket from a short with my pocket change. While this is not likely to happen with a E-cig battery you never know what may be in a pocket. LOL
Lucky for me I had heavy pockets and the burn was minor. The battery was a write off.
I am betting that E-cig users need to be almost as battery savvy as a Ham radio operator. OH I was a Electronics tech too before becoming a Network Eng. Ni-cads and others have a low internal resistance making them nasty when the get a short.
I am buying a fire resistant bag for charging my batteries too.

Just do it. It doesn't matter what other people think.
The more you act like you're doing something "wrong" the more likely you are to have someone call you out on it. I've been using big battery mods for quite a while now and have never had someone randomly ask about it. I'm not the most approachable person, but I rarely even get weird looks if I'm just out and about vaping.
Ive noticed if I dont clean the crap out of my charger contacts that my ego batts wont charge all the way.Just a thought.
Strigoi I've been leaning towards just taking it with me everywhere because the more I use it the more I love it and don't want to use my tiny cigg look alike batteries they're just not as good as the lava tube
That is where I am now. Lucky for me I had a friend who has been using vapor for a while. I got the ego 1000 twist and am looking at upgrading to a bigger one that you can replace the battery itself in. Makes much more sense to me. I use to smoke cigars so I have no problem with large. It seems to be the bigger it is that the less likely they will think it is a Smoke!
Keep in mind when you clean that if it is real bad or you want to clean inside the battery that they make Electronic Component cleaner that is a spray it vaporizes quickly and will not harm plastics. Also you don't have to wait very long for it to dry as it vaporizes quickly. I would not clean my tank with it but the battery and the electronic contacts for sure is a good place to use it. They carry it at Radio Shack and at places that carry electronic components. You can even us it on a live circuit and it will not cause a short. If you use alcohol I'd user Ethanol (Everclear) it is easier on parts and if you accidentally leave some behind in a tank etc.. you will not be inhaling anything real toxic. But you should let it dry at least a day.
FYI I flushed out an ailing clearmerizer??? whatever and left it out to dry. We eat a lot of fruit in my home and damned if a (&(790 fruit fly didn't crawl inside the thing. Had to disassemble it. Don't know if it will work am waiting to see if it works when it dries.
OH for blowing out my reservoir and contacts I use Computer dusting spray. I use a water pick on the tank.

juice has probably found its way down the carto and clogged up the air vent that runs through to the bottom of your battery...time for a new one.
I'll have to pick up some of that cleaner next time I'm out!! I've just been using ethanol and i wonder how that fruit fly ended up in there. I hope it still works for you!!!!!

Don't worry we have all been there and made mistakes at the beginning. But now you have found ECF you will have all the good advice here to help you on your journey
Smokeless Image Volt brand automatic batteries are sealed and so far seem pretty reliable. They're a 808 thread I believe.
