Battery Question

So im lost in the battery world and I was wondering what battery I should buy ?

I currently have Panasonic NCR 18650B 3400 mAh and useing a 1.1 ohm micro coil on my SVD and it works yust fine, hope im safe from that sub ohm thing ^^ yust followed a youtube video on how to make one.

I am planning on buying DNA20D from shan mods and she says to only use IMR or Highdrain and my current battery doesnt say any of that.

So will my battery work on that one or do I need another battery and if so should I am for high mAh or high amp?
she recomends 8A which stands for amp i guess ?

I would go with what she recommends, from just you explaining it it sounds pretty fair.

As for what you are using right now, you should be just fine. I don't know about the IED thing lol, I have yet to have a battery explode (knock on wood). But better safe than sorry! I have heard of it happening to people before.

So if I understand it right from reading his blog my batteries are IMR kinda Hybrid, but not highdrain and according to the chart highdrain seems to be for sub ohm and blowing up your face ?

Did the calcuation 4v/1.1 ohm and got 3.6363636etc and my battery according to fasttech members I have 6.8 amp so I should be safe?

But i have way to low to run that shan mod =(

You could go to an 18650 IMR battery pretty easily. They are safe cells and hold up pretty well. Find them at any vape shop or website for $10 or less. I would go this route because the batteries are protected which means if a short should happen they won't become a bomb.... Or IED. Imho

The panasonics are hybrid safer chemistry (no batteries are foolproof. It's safer, not safe) batteries comparable to IMRs. 6.8 amps indeed, so they will be fine for 1.1 ohms on the SVD. Not for subohms though, for that you need high drain batteries. High drain AWs, mnkes, efests are good, but make sure that you know what the max amp draw for the batteries are (and use an ohm's law calculator to check how many amps you'll draw)

I wasent aiming for sub ohm, the video i watched on you tube landed on 1.1 ohm can probly do another lap to be safe, thanks for the links all i've googled for hours but never found any that good that i understood atleast =P

You want a "high drain" type of battery for a regulated (VV/VW) mod. These are indeed IMR or hybrid batteries. I have a list of these batteries along with their amps in continuous discharge rate in my BATTERY BASICS FOR MODS: IMR OR PROTECTED? blog.

For your information, although it is a hybrid battery the Panasonic NCR18650B 3400 mAh battery is NOT a high drain battery. It may work subpar in a regulated mod but will cut out early under a high drain application in a regulated mod or mechanical mod using an RBA/RDA, due to it's lower amp limit of 6.8 amps CDR. I recommend a different battery for those applications. The below batteries are IMR or hybrid batteries that are high drain with a high amp rating that are more applicable for your purposes.
