As far as best battery? Thats always debateable.
This battery is safe to use? Yes. Samsung batteries are among the best in the business. I trust them more than efest and others.
It's safe to use ? Do you know the amp limits and what resistant you need to be ?? is the question you need to answer before hand.[EDIT]I have just google'ed hana mods. It uses DNA20 or DNA30 chips. So Any battery is safe to use since the chip has built in safety smarts. The answer is this battery is safe for you to use.[EDIT]

Quick question though, would they work in a mech without blowing up?

There is no trouble at all.
Now this question may be harmful to your health.
1. You will need to understand the resistant of your coil and how much the battery current is able to supply.
2. You will also need to understand that over-discharge will destroy your battery and possible vent/explode on you.
I would suggest you read up on battery safety before considering Mech-MOD.
One way to do would be use a MECH-MOD + KICK = SAFE!!!
So, in short :
HanaMOD + any reasonable battery = SAFE.
MECH-MOD + KICK + good battery = SAFE.
