Hey all, I've been trying to make sense of the battery terminology and figure some stuff out.

I like a good solid hit. good throat hit, good vapor production. I don't know anything about mah, volts, ohms, etc and was wondering;

does the 808d-1 hit better than the 510

is the 808 battery/ 510 atty better than just a 510 or an 808 as is.

If I upgrade to the ego (or should it be the riva? - I know lots of questions) does that hitt better than any of the above options. I've heard you can't really go by what the manufacturers say because none of them really reach that potential.

And the question inside the above question; Ego or Riva.

Battery life isn't really a concern for me except in the very last question. Just trying to make sense of the battery terminology.

thanks
-Nick

I don't know if you've seen these videos by MistressNomad but they're well worth watching: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/120044-i-made-videos-newbies-particular-broke-newbies.html. They should answer some of your questions. Throat hit is not that much about battery, although a bigger one will give optimum performance longer. Mostly it's about the atomizer and juice you use. In my opinion the 510 produces great vapor and throat hit, the battery just doesn't last long between charges. The eGo or Riva are 510's with a larger capacity battery. I haven't tried a KR808 but from what I've read they have less th than the 510, but give better vapor production. The difference between the eGo and Riva is the battery, but it's the same unit otherwise. Some like the eGo, others the Riva. 6 of one, half dozen of the other. All the units you mentioned are good, it's just a matter of finding the one that best meets your needs. Everyone has their opinions and I'm sure others will chime in shortly, it's Saturday morning and a bit slow right now so just give it some time and you'll have lots of replies.

I think thats a matter of opinion pretty much. Not everyone will agree on that. The kr808 does have a large following runs at a slightly higher voltage 4.2. it is mainly a cartomizer unit although i believe you can slap a dse901 atomizer on it. You might want to look into the new dse801 HighPowered kit uses a High resistance atomizer and runs at 7.4 volts it just came out but from what i have heard it puts out a thick fog. Trying real hard not to click the buy button right now.

5 volt mods have a very large following due to being able to consistently provide what you are looking for. Plus the batteries cost much less and last longer on a charge and can be recharged 10x more often than traditional batteries. I would review this site for a nice breakdown of many different mods:

Being as the kr808 batts loaded voltage is @4.2v it will provide a better hit/experience-- even better with a standard Joye510 atty-- & better yet still with a Joye510 LR atty (you need a kr808/901 battery to 510 atty adapter). YMMV

Of course I took a longer road before finding MY sweet-spot experience, but it led me to the gear in my sig which I use exclusively. Good luck!
