Hi everyone.

Just got my VV w/power option a couple weeks ago and I'm LOVING this thing! Only problem is the battery life. I'm using 2 AW IMR 16340's 550 mah with it per SL suggestion on his website. Okay I know they are only 550 mah and there are higher mah rated out there, but I'm wondering if my saber will work with the 18650's? It's a bit shorter than 2 stacked 16340 and only slightly wider and I'm thinking "Yes", but would like your guy's input before I buy some.

I would like Sir Lawrance to chime in on why or why not also, Pros and Cons etc. I would like to know if they do work, why Sir lawrance didn't design the tube to match.. ?

I saw the thread on "Best batteries for VV" but would like your guys recommendations also.

Thanks!

I don't mean to be a jerk here but this is why PVs blow up in peoples faces. The sabre touch uses step down regulation, it cannot boost voltage like a lavatube or provari. If you don't understand how it works dont touch it, you're giving the whole vaping hobby a bad name

I'm not sure if your referring to my post or aziffel's post.
If your referring to mine then, yes, I would consider your post to be from a ignorant jerk. I say ignorant, because you must have missed the whole question I was asking. I haven't bought any other batteries other than the batteries SL suggested. I haven't tried a 18650. I'm inquiring about them and/or their use in the saber. I don't know everything and that's why I ask. BTW I do understand that the voltage would peak at the the 3.7 -4.2 range on a single battery. A LR carto and 3.7 setting would be fine if I were to use this thing up camping or somewhere I was away from easily charging my other batteries.

My question still stands and I would appreciate more helpful responses.

Bnrk - yes, I'm using the batteries sir lawrance suggests on his site for my type of saber. I agree you should use what the vendor recommends.
I'm just looking for some longevity with my saber even though it could limit the output. Kicking around ideas.

Looking at it, it has quite a lot of material in the tube. I'm sure it could be bored out to accept larger batteries. I'm guessing by looking at it that the walls are about .150 thousands per side and the batteries have about .100 thou clearance from the wall. I just don't have a variety of batteries to get a visual comparison. Everything is in metric on the battery #s and I need to convert it to inches to understand the sizes easier.

The Saber VariVolt will not operate on a 16850 since you need at least 6.5+v to make it work. Always remember that battery life is different for everyone since all users vape with different atties, cartos, etc. And the amount that you vape and the voltage you vape at. For most people, 2 sets of 16340 3.7v batts will get you through the day. For some, they only need one set. And please... with the Saber Touch lines or any other vaping device, always use what the manufacturer has made the device to use.

As far as boring out the inside of the Saber to accept much larger batteries... there wouldn't be enough room to counter sink the sensor button... it would have to be a flush top fit, which wouldn't be nearly as secure and sturdy.

I'm right now working on some new ideas... to be disclosed later!
