Battery spring

Hi All!

I'm trying to cut some height from my mod design and wondered if it's okay to cut the spring on my negative battery contact? It's fairly long and hard to compress much.

You should be able to compress the spring with a locking pliers (vise grip) to the length you want and heat it with a torch. Then let it cool off before you release the pliers. It will spring back a little bit.

I read this in the tutorial for mamu's Arlo mod.

Nope, not an issue at all. I used a torch to "sack" the Keystone springs on my Arlo build. Works perfect to this day.

Here are the same negative contacts you have, after I torched them. They lost quite a bit of height. {Installed in a Vamo powered Arlo box}
