Hey everyone,

I've been doing some research on this and wanted to hear some input from the pros. I'm looking to buy Efest, I heard great things from friends, also online here. I'm a bit on a budget, I just want something low priced and SAFE for my hardware.

VTR - I've been suggested to use either the IMR18650 2250mah flat top or IMR18650 2000mah flat top. Is this accurate? Does the 2250 last a lot longer than the 2k?

134 Mini - I've read about the IMR18350 or IMR18500 being suggested, but no mention of how many mah and whether flat top or button top. What do you all suggest? Can I use both battery sets and what are the differences?

Coolfire II - The only suggested battery I've seen for this model is the IMR18350, no mention of mah and whether flat top or button top. Same as above, what works, what's recommended for safety, etc

Thanks all.

Dan

Battery Basics for Mods: IMR or Protected ICR?
- choose the safest and right battery for your applications here. Includes a list of name brand, high-drain, safe-chemistry batteries with mAh & amp ratings in 18350, 18490/18500, and 18650 sizes.

Where to Purchase Batteries
Only buy from a reputable dealer (not ebay or Amazon) as there are many counterfeit batteries being sold. Here are a few reputable battery suppliers in the US.
* Illumination Supply
* Lighthound
* Orbtronics
* RTD Vapor

Additional Battery Notes

*Efest Purple Batteries -- If your batteries are the purple Efest 18650 2500mAh 35A batteries -- they are not 35A continuous. They are really rebranded LG18650HE2 2500mAh 20 amp continuous batteries. Source: Baditudes Blog (1st link in this post)
Here is another warning that was posted on ECF regarding another purple Efest battery: Efest 3100mAh battery caution

*SONY VTC5 Batteries -- The Sony VTC5's are great batteries but be aware there are lots of counterfeit batteries out there. Just last week Illumination Supply (a well respected battery supplier) found counterfeit batteries in their inventory. How to Spot Fake Sony Batteries

I have the VTR and do use the Black Efest IMR18650 2250mah flat top batteries. The difference between the 2250mah and the 2000mah is probably a between 1-2 hours in run time (depending on the v/w you use and how much you vape). They both have a 10A limitation

On the battery label the, for example, 2000 mah is an indicator of how much energy the battery will hold. 2100 will provide an extra bit of power beyond a 2000. The major trade off is cost. If the 2000 almost gets you through the day and you need a second battery and the extra 100 will last the day then it might be worth it to get the 2100. On the other hand if the 2000 easily gets you through the day save a couple of bucks for your next bottle of juice and stick with the 2000.

A much harder thing to find is how much current, amps, the battery can supply at any time. There is usually no indication on the battery of what this is. In your case this is not much of a problem since both of your devices draw less than 10 amps.

Think of the mah as an indicator of how big the tank is and the amp rating as how big a hole you can put in the tank to let the water run out.

I searched the web and found this statement on the MadVapes website: The Mini comes with 2 separate bodies that can be interchanged at any time; one for 18350 batteries and one for 18500 batteries. They also have a video you can watch on their website.

MyVaporStore sells both flat top and button top batteries as options you can choose when purchasing this product so I would think either would work on the mini.

I did not look to see if either of these vendors sell the Coolfire. You can check that out yourself.

By coincidence I ordered a couple of the Purple Efest 3100mAH (alleged!) batteries from an Amazon supplier this afternoon, and they're already dispatched. I've been using that type in my Cool Fire and they've been impressive so thought I'd get more now I've a VTR on the way. I don't use resistances below 1.8 ohm so I hope I'll be OK.
