Check with the moderators on this.

The link may have been broken for safety reasons. Looking at the Efest purple 18650 2500mah 20A battery it shows you can safely use this battery down to 0.1 ohms.

I may download it and modify it for my own personal use.
Oops! How would I check with a mod? Do you think I should just remove the link?

I wouldn't remove it -- but you could click on the triangle on the bottom left hand side of your post and ask them if the link is ok. If it isn't they will break it, otherwise the link is probably okay.

I downloaded the spreadsheet it for myself and will alter the last column to account for the safety margin I am comfortable using. So thanks for finding this spreadsheet.:)

*** Additional Note: I'm also going to compare the information in the spreadsheet to the information in Baditudes blog and make corrections where needed: Battery Basics for Mods: IMR or Protected ICR?

This Doc can certainly be misleading. That max discharge column looks to be pulse rating. No one agrees on what a pulse is, how long under load? and how long between pulses? Best to stay within the max continuous rating.
That's what I was planning to do as well.

The only thing I've seen is one data sheet on the VTC4's that showed discharge vs. time all the way up to (I think) 80 amps for a few seconds.

Done! Apparently, there's a 10 character limit on replies! Learn something new every day.

There are defiantly a lot of errors on that spreadsheet. Several AW, Panisonic, and sony battery's have the wrong amp ratings listed. Most of them are under rated on the chart but the aw 18650 2000mah is a 10a battery not a 16a which could get some people in trouble. There are probably even more errors on the battery's I am not familiar with.

Yeah a quick look picks up other errors also. A .1 ohm resistance is certainly not safe for a 20 to 30 amp battery

It would seem if there was Only 1 Error on the Spreadsheet, that it would be Unadvisable to post it.

Let Alone Multiple Errors. Or Confusing Info.

I agree. I've made a copy of the original spreadsheet and made it public. Here's the link:
Corrected batteries chart
I think anyone can go in and add to it or change it. I've changed the data in the "safe ohm to run" column to be based on Ohm's law, using 4.2V and the continuous Amp rating. Feel free to go in with additional corrections if you have more reliable data. Also, any suggestions are welcome!

I mentioned it because I don't like the Concept of Posting something where there are Known Errors.

Because Links are Uncontrollable. And a Link that I post may get Forwarded many times to other people. And those People may Not Know that there are Errors. And Blindly Except what is on something like a Spreadsheet.

Well, now we can fix any errors we find, which is an improvement. Also, I've been told there are errors here, but my alternative is to trust the numbers on the retailer web sites, which are TOTAL b.s. None of them even mention continuous ratings. If I looked at those numbers, I'd likely blow my face off. So, this isn't perfect, but it's better and is something we can improve, at least IMO.
