Hey guys.....I've lost about 4 or 5 batterys lately due to attys. What's been happening is the problem where the at won't shut off and it does whatever to the battery so the light won't come on and in order to use it at all you need to screw in the atty take a puff and unscrew it, then a few days later it just stops working all together.

I've been using eGo PT and Riva batterys. I use LR 510 attys. I clean them if they start tasting funky using just water then burning them till the sides glow red. I'm using juice i made.

So now i have to try to scavenge money to buy a new battery which i can't afford and want to avoid having this problem happen again. So i need to either figure out what's causing this problem, or find a battery i can afford to buy that won't give me this problem. I was looking at E-Power Replacable Battery kit! but then i realized chances are it'd kill the button, not the $5 battery.

Any advice would be greately appreciated!!

do u know what resistance the atty is, I'm not a voltage guru, but I know that really low resistance atomizers with a 3.7 volt battery tend to blow out the mosfet in the battery. I wouldn't use anything lower than a 2.0 ohm, or a 2.5 ohm cartomizer or atty, with any eGo or Riva battery... That being the advice that I got from Hoog at Madvapes :/

The e-power is a solid Kit, The Switch, battery, and Body are all replaceable individually... but if you get any other ego Batteries, they got em for cheap at MADVAPES, just be sure to not use anything lower than 2.0 ohm. they also have "eGo Dual Coil Mega Cartomizers, for the eGo, I use em, they're amzing Pieces, you'll deffinitely love em, They hit at about 1.6 ohm, with the combination of 2X 3.2 ohm coils! :)

Have you thought of building yourself a couple of 3.7v box mods from mad vapes. You can get two kits for under twenty bucks, and then you just need some batteries and a charger. Their shipping is fast, and the 3.7 mods are a snap to build, as they have already drilled the holes for you. There are no mosfets to fry in a box mod, and if you try not to use any hot glue or epoxy around the button, you can replace that too, if it ever went out. I like to use jb weld around the atty connector on the inside of the box, but you can also use a two part epoxy.

I second that!! I've got 9 batteries in the drawer with blown mosfets. BIL & I changed to LR510's @ 1.5ohm late last year and the batteries were dropping like flies.

Changed back to std cartos and haven't lost another since. I too believe that going below 2.0 ohms is asking for trouble.

I have thought about it but I've never soldered anything in my life or used hot glue as an adult or anything lol

I don't have the thing to check the voltage but i don't think i've ever gone below 2....I know the ones i've been ordering from madvapes lately say they're 2.0. And sadly im addicted to throat hit more then anything and when i try using regular attys or cartos i don't even feel it. My best friend says he doesn't think a jackhammer to throat while smoking would do the trick for me lol

If i have this problem again would i be killing the $12 switch or the $5 battery or both?? I'm thinking just the button right?

If you're going to be using LR attys invest in a decent 3.7 mod that'll handle it. You can get box mods cheap from Madvapes, Oldgoat in the suppliers forum and many many other places or if you want a tube those start off reasonable also, Roughstack and many others. You'll be saving money in the long run compared to what your spending on proprietary batteries.

Well i do need something that can be sent out almost immediately as im pretty desperate right now....I am considering the $23 boxmods from madvapes since they're cheap and from what i understand this problem can not happen on a boxmod....My only complaint about those on madvapes is they're so ugly haha not a big complaint and im leaning towards that or the epower right now

Check out the sparkplug also if you're looking for a good inexpensive choice and don't like the boxes. There's info on it further down in the general forum. If he hasn't changed the connection on the latest revision you'll need an adapter to use it with 510 accessories but they are just a few bucks.

OK so im still very undecided but if i were to get a boxmod or that sparkplug or anything like that this problem i am having cannot happen again is that right?? I realy don't wanna keep buying new hardware constantly

Any PV with a mechanical switch as opposed to an electronic switch will eliminate the problem. It's the elctronics controlling the voltage out-put that get fried.

Most Mods have batteries with a higher "C" rating that can take the larger amp draw of LR attys.

Thank you so much for explaining that to me!!!!!
