Is anyone else having as many problems with 901 batteries as I am? It seems like every time I turn around I have a battery go bad. And it's not just from one place, I've bought them from different suppliers. Every night I stand my batteries LED up so any juice that may have gotten in them might drain out. I don't drip anymore. I thought overfilling the atty might be causing juice to get into the batteries, I am very careful to not overfill the carts for the same reason I don't drip anymore. I have had 13 batteries go bad since April 10, 2009. This can't possibly be normal can it? What am I doing wrong? I can't afford to buy new batteries every single month. I have passthrus on order that will be here sometime next week but if I'm doing something wrong won't I mess these up as well? HELP!!!

You could have an addy that is shorting out your batteries.

I had 4 DSE113 batteries go dead all in a row. The supplier, Cris from Cigtechs, lived right by me. Met me and gave me all new batteries plus 1 extra. Later that night after thinking about it Cris emailed me and told me that perhaps I had an addy that was shorting out my batteries and to watch for that.

If you have access to a volt ohm meter and someone who knows how to use it, have them see if any of your in use addy's registers different from the other addy's. I was always going to do that, but never got around to it ... I put my 113 stuff off to the side and was just using my 901 stuff.

Also, message Cellmeister, he is a pro on batteries.

And, it could be a bad charger. Do you have a spare charger. AlternaSmokes has the DSE901 kits in stock. Steve/ OutWest is a super guy to order from!!!

Thanks for that. I have other chargers but there is one that is used a lot more than the others. Will def swap those out. It isn't happening with any certain atty. We have all 3 had the batteries go bad and of course we don't all use the same atty but we do pretty much use the same charger that is in the living room a lot. I think it might be time to change it out and see what happens.

Make yourself a Nicostick and buy a few Ultrafire 14500 batteries and your problem will be solved. I still use the 901 batteries when I go out but. The truth is I have cut my 901 battery use in half. Ice

That would be great but I'm not that talented and the hubby's hands are too shaky. Do you know anyone that is making them and selling them? I do have some passthrus ordered, should be here next week but I still don't like losing batteries like this.

Jules, I am having the same problem, 2 different suppliers 4 different colors, 4 different orders, so I KNOW it's not a bad batch problem. I know they are only good for 3 weeks to a month but some of mine are 6 weeks old! The rest are 2 and 3 weeks old. The blue light comes on and they start blinking with or without an atty.
I do have a passthrough but it kind of scares me, it makes the atty sizzle and get hot.
Wildsky knows how to make the Nicosticks..maybe we should ask her for help.

lol 901 bateries are renowned for going "flakey" ..... get a 510 .... their acey pacey waaaa

I have so much invested in my 901's that I really hate to change now. Plus I think my hubby would kill me,lol

I would gladly pay for the parts and for someone's time to make one since I have no hidden talents in doing such things, lol

I like my 901 and I am happy with everything but this battery issue. So far both places I have ordered them from have been great with replacing them but it gets tedious at best and stressful at worst to keep on having batteries die. I have this insane fear of running out of batteries and not having anything to vape, lol Therei s no way I can go back to analogs so vaping is my only option. If it doenst get better I guess I'll have to try another type of ecig.

I just got back to my 901 - it was my first and favorite until I got tempted away by the 801 and USB power. The battery quality has improved a bit since when I first got mine almost a year ago but USB power is still the best option. I made my own 901 manual cable with medical tape and the atomizer is still alive after about a month of heavy use so I know that it is a viable option when using it at home to save batteries.

I'm all set and can't wait for the USB passthru to get here. I've worked with who I bought it from to get the right things going, I have a difficult computer set up because of my disabilities, so we had to work out a few things to get it to where it would work for me. Once it gets here I doubt that I will use batteries for anything other than when I'm out and about, which isn't very often.

How did you make a manual cable with medical tape? I could very possibly pull something like that off!

Not to rain on your parade about the pass-through but they break even more quickly than the batteries. If you really want to move beyond the expensive, flakey batteries and cheap pass throughs, then get a manual switch PV. In most cases it's the liquid getting into the battery and the pass through that kills them. Although with the pass through, the wires just break, also because they are so cheaply made.

The Screwdriver and Prodigy are built to last and to be able to drip with out gumming up or harming the batteries. And the batteries cost $2 instead of $15 and last for 6-8 hours. It also apprears that puresmokers pass thorugh will be built to last, also as Steve is providing a 6 month warranty.

Another option, although not as good as the Prodigy or Screwdriver, is the new manual battery and pass throughs for the 901. I believe both Runyan Direct and EastMall.net will have them by the end of next week.

One other thing, with the pass through, instead of plugging it into your computer, I would strongly recommend getting a usb wall outlet adapter. Better power and no possiblitiy of harming your computer. They cost about $8.

Sadly, I can't afford the SD yet but I am saving up for one since I've heard only great things about them.

Thanks for that. The passthru I have ordered is the manual one so hopefully that will help. I'll wait to order any other batteries until the manual ones are available for it. Ruyan already has the manual passthrus, that's who I'm getting mine from.

You are definitely heading in the right direction getting the manual pass-through. One thing to consider on the higher up front cost of the Screwdriver or Prodigy, in the long run they should save you money due to how inexpensive the batteries are.

That's very true. I got the 901 to begin with because of the price and it does get some pretty good reviews. I am on a limited income so I have to save for the SD but I def want one.

Jules, I just found out the sizzle is normal in a passthru! I was scared my atty was getting ready to blow or something! I have been using it all night and I am still here to tell the tale and so is my atty.:p
That is so awesome to hear! I haven't had any problems with the attys unless I created them, lol I broke 2 of them messing with them to see how they worked, lol Glad you are still around!

I actually, swear to God, just had another battery go out,lol If it wasnt' for bad luck I'd have no luck at all,lol

Does anyone know where to get manual batts for the 901? I have a certain amount budgeted each month for ecig stuff and my budget is so tight I can't go over. It will take me a couple of months to be able to buy an SD unless someone on here decides to sell one cheap but I will have one!!!
