Okay, fighting major urge to have a cigarette today. Not sure why. I haven't had an analog since I got my V4L starter kit just over two weeks ago, but really having trouble today for some reason. Been chain vaping WOW Smilin Menthol and Dunhall to try to get past it, and it just isn't happening for me today. So, what do you all do when you've got the urge to smoke an analog and just can't seem to get past it?

I feel for you. I don't know what level of nicotine you're using, but I keep some higher level juice in a strong flavor on hand in case that happens. Also, if you're in the position to, find something to do that requires some physical effort or something to keep your hands busy - that helps sometimes. It seems to make it all that more gratifying when you do take a break and vape. Good luck!

This is a battle of the mind ChadR...your withdrawals are due to the chemical additives getting purged from your system. You have to go to the mirror, look yourself in the eyes and ask yourself, 'Who's gonna friggin win this time, you or Philip Morris?"

You have to get downright angry, it ain't easy believe me. Tell those chemical additives or what is better known as "customer loyalty enhancers" exactly what you think of them and Philip Morris. (may want to move the kids into another room)

Let all it out, this is a Tourette's moment, trust me you will feel so much better after vocalizing your feelings. This is a battle of your mind against their chemicials. It's the rule of 3....3 days, 3 weeks, and 3 months, at 3 months the last of it will pass. At 3 months it will come suddenly and viciously almost as if you are going to suffocate without having a cigarette.

Hold strong, be prepared, and whatever you don't back down! Now go kick some azz!

I always found when that happened I had to find something to keep my hands busy. A project of some sort, to keep my mine off of it. I started higher and now am at 0nic juices. It's been a year since I've had an analog and believe it or not, I still every once in awhile get a craving for one. It's hard to get over. But it can be done. I just had to keep busy and play tricks on my mind not to think about it. Everyone's different tho. Best of luck to you and don't forget, if you have an analog, it's no biggie because it happens, don't beat yourself up over it. Think of all the ones you didn't have ! :smokie:

(I just read that and realized I prolly didn't help you one bit ! I sorry honey )

Keep puffing away like a madman! It's the law of 3s. The hardest cravings hit at 3 days, 3 weeks, and 3 months. Just know that it'll pass, and you'll look back at it and be proud of yourself.

Also, do something that keep you from thinking about it. If you've got the time, do a quick 5 mile run so that you aren't grinding your teeth. Change up your routine today if you can. Try not to do activities in the same way that you used to do while smoking (driving, eating, hanky panky).

step outside if you wanna smoke.... its what 21F there now? If you used to smoke inside, decide that's a no-no from now on (your home will smell better). If all else fails go sniff an ashtray to remind you what you used to smell like, and the unpleasantness you think you are missing. (these are things I do)

And advice to step up the nic is good too.

+1 to what Snow sir said.

ChadR sir chain vaping something that reminds you of your old analog and upping the nic does help as well. When a craving hits me hard (and they still do at times almost year later) vaping nuport wow at 60mg is the only thing that helps... Always have an emergency 5ml bottle at all times of it on me... If you really want to be off the cigs, you can fight through it sir. :)

Tell yourself that it's not the NICOTINE you're craving, it's the other addictive stuff in cigs that's fighting for your attention. Keep chain vaping, and drink TONS of water to help flush those other toxins out of your system.

And know that if you break down, you are not alone, or a failure. We will  you anyway. :)

I thought you Nebraska boys were supposed to be tough........

Understanding why you are feeling the way you do will help in getting you passed this threshold moment.

Here are few links you should read.

Tobacco smoke, beta-carboline alkaloids, and reversible MAO inhibition

This is your brain on nicotine

If you still can't make it through this....if you feel you are about to break I do have final yet controversial option for you. Hopefully you won't have to go there. In the meantime sack-up, you can do this!

Check out WTA's around the forum. This may be what you need. I have been meaning to get some for myself as even more than a year later there are those occasional analogs for me. It's get one or really hurt someone. I just flat get beyond anything else helping! I have gone over 6 months without touching an analog but still have the occasional one when even higher nic will not do the trick. No matter what, an occasional analog is nothing compared to the daily pk a day habit I had.
Anyone on here use the WTA's?

I too was nagged by analog cravings in my first few weeks. I caved in twice. Each time I tried one it tasted terrible and I realized I no longer really liked them and did not really wanted one. My mind just told me I did. Now when I get the occasional thought of wanting an analogue it is quickly gone because I know I no longer like them and my mind is trying to play tricks on me. I'm not saying you should have a smoke, but if you do break down, it is not the end of the world, it does not negate the efforts you have made to vape instead of smoke, and you may learn something from it.

Agreed. Patience, hope, anger toward tobac companies, higher nic level, and a flav with enough TH to knock you back in your chair. If you need help choosing, let us know. Good luck.

And more more thought that helped me: do I really want to go through the first stage of quitting again?

Actually, I have a cig once in a blue moon, and I have not gone through the cravings that cigs bring... The nic? Yes I get that, other ones that I "Must have a real cig then a fake?" No... Idk maybe I am weird, oh wait... I am lol!
