Great advice from all, hope it all helped. Just wanted to add that reading about how other people quit the cigs and are now a happy vapers, helps.
I thought it was a miracle that I stopped an almost 40 year cig habit in 2 days whan i started vaping. But we all are different and sometimes it takes awhile, so if you cave for a cig it's ok, just keep on vaping and you will get there :)

Well, I've gotten through it so far. Thanks to all of you who have posted here. Just reading the encouragment helps. I did figure out that while it has been 15 days since I've had any cigarettes, it has been exactly three weeks since I first decided to quit got my first non V4L electronic cigarette, and dropped from a pack or so day to 1 a day, so that fits right in with the 3 days, 3 weeks thing. Not really looking forward to the 3 month hit :) May have to lay in a supply of high nic Dunhall and Smilin Menthol for when that comes.
The manual passthrough really helped - I always get more throat hit off of that, and that soothed the craving some. Not being at work helped, too. Shoveled snow and cleaned house like a madman when I got home. My wife helped, too, telling me, and I quote, "If you have a <explitive> cigarette after all of the money you've spent on that <explitive> electronic cigarette junk, I will wait until you are asleep and beat you <explitive> black and blue!"

She'd do it, too.

Hard to believe that after almost twenty five years of a pack a day I may actually be getting free of it. Good, but like I said, kind of hard to believe.

Thank you again for your kind words, encouragment, and suggestions. When the 3 month craving hits, I'll know where to come for help!

Read through this again, and Jeffree, earlier, said
Agreed. Patience, hope, anger toward tobac companies, higher nic level, and a flav with enough TH to knock you back in your chair. If you need help choosing, let us know. Good luck.
so what are those flavors with enough TH to knock you back in you chair?

Everybody has posted everything there is to say and just know it will be easier once you get over the danger points ( it was for me at least ) even when i fell ,the cravings were never what the original first month of quitting was and once i lit one ( analog ) yuck ...put it out after 1/2 the cig ,then 1/4 of the cig.I try to remind myself of the consequences of each smoke and how i LOVE not smelling like analogs ,in my hair ,in my skin ,in my car ,my poor clothes ,ick .
SMilin works for me too ...and wowboy ,the lighter flavors for me are only for those times when im sailing ....

p.s. threats from others no matter how bad relating to smoking (i.e. hubby threatens ) simply backfire on me because i am stubborn ....he knows not to .He saw when i fell and had one or two a day for awhile ....the outcome of that fight was not good .....it doesn't work with alcoholics and it didnt work with me .We all quit in our own time and way .:)

Doing really good today. Friday was hard, Saturday was on and off, and today has been easy. I've found that the fruity flavors, aside from outlaw apple, which has a fair throat hit, don't help much when I'm craving. Dunhall, TT in a wow, and Smilin menthol helped a lot. As did all the encouragement from you, here. I'm not generally big on menthol, but I may have to try Nuport WOW just to see what the TH is like.
At this point, I'm just trying to stay determined to get free of the cigarettes. To feel better, to smell better, and to not have to go outside all the time.
On the bright side, after all the energy from the cigarette craving on friday and saturday, my house is nice and clean!

I thought I had the cravings monster beaten since I passed all of the 3s. Then I had a very vivid dream the other night that I "forgot" that I quit, began smoking up a storm, hiding from family, lying to my wife, driving around aimlessly to be able to smoke alone, etc. I woke up so exhausted from the ordeal that all cravings were gone! Then I grabbed my PV off the nightstand...
