So I routinely soak/rinse/dry-burn the attys in my T3S' when they start to loose taste, or taste burny but I did not have replacements for the 2 flavor wicks the reside above the coil.

Yesterday I bought a ream of Lily's Sugar 'n Cream white yarn from Michaels, about $1.60 with a 20% discount, in anticipation of the Kanthal wire I bought online to rebuild my coils. I decided to try the yarn in place of the flavor wicks in my tanks. I separated the yarn into its 4 strands then used a single strand in place of the 2 flavor wicks.

Wow what a difference, even the gurgling problem in my PT2 has been resolved and I swear the taste is enhanced. At the very least I found a worthy replacement for old flavor wicks.

I agree that the cotton is a much cleaner taste than silica.
I boil my cotton twice with distilled water for 20 minutes each boil. I tried tap water, but I did not like the taste it left in the cotton due to the chemicals used to treat the water and the minerals in the water.
The boiled cotton just seems to have a cleaner taste.
Do not do a dry burn with cotton, as it will scorch or might even catch fire.

Yes indeed, join the Cotton Club.

Now that you've seen the difference with just a flavour wick, why not slip out that silica wick and replace it with cotton too? Use a pair of tweezers, should be simple enough. If not, there's tutorials all over the forums.

I agree, this is a good recommendation. No reason to wait on kanthal when a perfecly good coil is available to simply re-wick. Get one of your old heads, pull all the silica out and replace it with cotton ... then give it a try ... amazing results await!

My favourite wick ever. I use 100% cotton make up removal pads, untreated, unbleached. Easy to cut into 1mm strips for my micro/macro coils and 2mm strips for my mini coils. Immense flavour and vapour, plus I don't need to boil them first. I can get at least 10 wicks for my RBA's out of each cotton pad, or 4 wicks for my Novas. Just don't tell the Wife, I pinched them ;)

Another cotton lover, here. I was ready to give up on anything that used wicks because everything tasted horrible to me. Then I tried re-wicking something (maybe my first RDA, or a Vivi Nova, I'm not sure which) with cotton and it was a totally different vape. I learned that I apparently despise the taste of silica wick, and the cotton seems to give a much cleaner flavor.

My dual TP cotton wicks are still doing great.
I'm using looped thread to thread dual wicks through coil.

Are these specifically organic removal pads? How do you know they are unbleached? I'm new to both make-up removal and wicking. TIA.

I was stuck on cotton for about 2 weeks, then recently it just wouldn't taste right. I switched back to ekowool and I haven't had any problems with it so far. I do like that fact that I can wrap micro/nano coils when I use cotton. But I can still get a .2 ohm build using .24 gauge kanthal. I use .28 when doing micro/nano.

My Wife has very sensitive skin, so she's really careful about what she uses. They are 100% organic cotton, the taste is great from the very first draw, none of the usual breaking in period - like with some other wicks. I've tried the bleached cotton pads before and I can definitely tell the difference.
