I going to do the same thing with my phone. The kids talked me into getting one with Internet stuffs. I make calls and text about 20 msgs a month. The only time I used the Internet was to get directions to some place or look up something on imdb that hubby and I were talking about in the car. I don't need to see my 50 Facebook/EFC email updates while I'm not at my pc. The constant dinging drives me crazy. And frankly having a 2 minute conversation is easier than text messaging... Less miscommunication when mom is yelling into the phone! lol

My DH and I got smart phones last year. After about a month we brought them back and asked for our "dumb" phones back. They thought we were crazy but we found them much more of a hassle and expense than they were worth to us. Once in a while I wish I had the internet but not often enough to warrant the expense.

I'm the same way with my phone...but I'm at work or home 95% plus percent of the time so have a pc at my fingers. Back in the day when I was traveling all over the state chasing my kids in sports and other activities it would have been very nice to have a smart phone. Everyone have a great weekend and can't wait until Sunday

I started keeping addresses and phone numbers in my contacts even before I got a smart phone. I don't even own an address book anymore.
