I've lived in Florida my entire life. Back in the day when I was in school they weren't air conditioned. It would be 90+ degrees outside and only thing could do was open the windows and prop the door open.

We were exposed to all the pollens and allergens but I don't remember much sickness. As children, we built up a resistance to stuff and with all the openness, whatever germs there were wasn't easily spread.

And we NEVER had hurricane days like they do now. Come hell or high water, the schools were in session. LOL

All I remember is having to wear those awful red rubbers over our shoes.. Did anyone else remember them?

I think my mom called them galoshes (I always figured she wasn't allowed to say 'rubbers' because we were Catholic ;)), god, nothing was more embarrassing than having those still on your shoes when you got to school!!! 8-o8-o8-o

That brings back a memory...my grandmother used to say it was bad luck to wear them in the house. So they had to be put on and off on the porch.

I can't believe the horrible weather everywhere. It was 29 here today and we haven't had snow in ages. We're just having a normal winter but we could use a bit more snow for ground cover before we get a cold spell.

I'm glad that you are feeling better, Kathy. Dave is still sick and I'm feeling it again today. Dave's hoping he is back at work if I get sicker. LOL. He's afraid I'll be mad at him.

Sorry to hear about the snow, cold weather, and sickness! :(

There's a lot of cold and stomach bug viruses going round down here. My daughter and her family (grand kids included) have the runny nose, cough, aches yuckies right now. My nephews just got over the stomach bug. (That one is the one I REALLY don't want)

Looking forward to spring and everyone feeling better! :)

And Rip, it was galoshes in my house too. Funny also because we were Catholic as well. LOL

tank for my orion came today, here it is next to my husbands orion. Love it, thank you Kathy.
I keep mine in 18650 incidently, so it stays upright in the side pocket of my handbags.

Omgosh how cute. At first I thought John does the same thing Bert does and shovels out a place for the dog to poop.... How much did you guys get?

Good afternoon Bedazzle peeps, hope you are all enjoying your Sunday! :)

Kathy, just had to share how much our little dog is loving all the snow.....John thought he was funny & dug out a "bigfoot foot print" & then stuck poor Dach in it! :D

Kathy, that pic was taken after the last snow (thinj we got around 3+"), but have at least two feet of it in the back yard....too cokd for any of it to melt yet. And yes, John does shovel a "doggie duty" spot for them....otherwise our little one wouldn't even make it into the yard! ;)

Something new, huh? Always love seeing the new things you come up with my friend!! :D
