Attn Hoosier Vapers! The city of Beech Grove is proposing to add the use of an e-cig to the definition of smoking. I've spoken to CASAA and we decided to NOT issue a general CTA or email the City Council en masse. We need bodies on the ground ready to speak and a few well crafted emails. Locals should contact their representatives. The next meeting is 8/6. More to come."

Beech Grove was exempted from the Marion County ban on e-cigs. I guess they were upset they were exempted?

I don't think there is much logic driving the reps here...

I'm imagining arriving with a Thermos of steaming hot tea or coffee, opening it up at some appropriate moment, and then apologizing for the vapor... and then...

I noticed on the City/County council website that Speedway, Southport, and one other besides Beech Grove are exempted from being part of Indianapolis' decrees (followed the link from the sidebar on HoosierVapers). I suppose we need to keep an eye on them also?

Look, I'm still pretty green here on ECF, plus I live on the opposite side of Arlington Ave. but I work inside of Beech Grove. I will make the commitment and try to show up to defend our PV's. I sent out various letters when Indianapolis rolled up vaping along with cigarettes in the last smoking ordanance pleading with the council member to keep the two seperate. The stigma of vapor looking like smoke, people who don't understand vaping, and the fact that we as vapers choose to forge our own path shouldn't have any baring on our right to use our PV's when, how, wherever we please. Why should ignorance be the exemption to the rule of understanding?

Really? Exactly where on Main St? I pass by there at least twice a day and didn't realize it. As far as Arlington, my place is more or less off Churchman, but its not too far from Arlington. If I'm not mistaken East of Arlington is Franklin Township. Are you closer to Thompson Rd., Churchman, or Southeastern Ave.?

Thanks for the shop plug! I've gotta do a little running around today and I think I'm gonna drop by there, just to check it out. I just got through ordering my supplies for this month already but I never know when I'll have an emergency PV situation. Plus I bought a Phoenix Rebuildable and like a years worth of Kanthal A-1 and 6 feet of silica. Where could I score a Provari dirt cheap?

Hey Capt-n-Coke, yeah I figured that would be an oxymoron and I should of just said on sale or discounted Provari. I went by Vapor This on Thursday and Joel the shop guy is pretty cool! I think I was there for at least an hour and a half just shooting the breeze. Not too much inventory, but that's ok because he has the bare essentials there and plans to slowly update. I let him know I'm gonna be in Beech Grove for the e cig ordinance and will pop by the shop before I head home. As far as the beer, I'll be there you just let me know when. If you also go, remember you can catch me at Vapor This afterward!

Joel is a nice guy. I stopped by that same day after you did and grabbed some cartos, decent Boge's. I'm sure I'll see you at the meeting and maybe we can go have a vape and a beer afterwards.
