Yep, I am happy. I still have the urg for a smoke. That warm rich flavor....never mind. Onto the subject at hand. For me the vape deal is a good way to ween off the cigs. But, yeah but, it is difficult, time consuming, messy. I have tried a lot of mods cleaning, dripping, tanks, cartos, I have run the gambit. Nothing stays the same, no consistency. I would clean out the atomizers, they would work great for a while, hours not days, clean the atomizers for the tanks, a little longer but not a full day. In the beginning the vape is tasty, thick and fulfilling, and then it just tapers off. I have moved on to having 2 complete setups when going out and still going through it all again when I get home.

Today I pulled the ego Tank Atomizer apart, the weeny wick was burn, and fell apart. All I had was some of the fiber that was in the 510 cartridges so that's what I put back in. So far so good, just gotta make sure it doesn't burn.

Last week I thought I was in vape heaven, I ran across a mod, on this forum, actually it was a combined mod from the folks that suggested uisng the blue foam or something to replace the fiber in the 510 carts. I did pretty much the same but rolled up a plug of the fiber and stuffed it right on top, dripped a drop on 'er and wow....ok...I made another...the vapor was awesome. And by the end of the day the atomizers were clogged up, to be expected though, oh and it ruined my mouth for about 2 days, don't know why for sure yet. May be just too much or maybe I am sensitive to the PG, don't really know for sure yet.

To tell the truth I spend way too much time on just trying to be satisfied with vaping. I am not giving up though. A month without cigs is not to be taken lightly. So moving on....

Oh I know what I was going to say about the cartomizers. They actually may be the best, they seem to like a nice rest in between hits. But as I am trying to find the extended sweet spot for the tanks and 510 carts. I pull out a crto and there is a nice cool, thick vape waiting...we'll see.

Sorry for the rambling but hey...:p

Welcome to the ECF! Sorry its been a troublesome ride so far, but it sounds like you are approaching it with the right mindset - keep trying until you get it right. I haven't gotten too involved with the tanks, but I might recommend purchasing a plain old atomizer or two and a drip tip. Maybe even a regular and a low resistance. Dripping is somewhat of a pain compared to using cartridges or tanks, but it simplifies the equation. Drip a few drops, vape until you need a few more. That way you can get a better understanding of the full potential and go from there.

Congrats 132's on one month! It takes a while to get just the right setup for you. You will get it I am sure!
If you find you want to recoup your losses try the classified (buy trade sell) But be honest if there is something wrong with it! You want a good honest rep so you can keep trading. Also check with the mod area of ECF and they might be able to help you get more bang for the buck with the mods you have...they know all the tricks!
Welcome to ECF!

I feel your success and your pain. I am just over a month analog free, but am still searching for my vaping sweet spot as you are. My experience is virtually identical to yours with the carts, attys, cartos and tanks. I also tried the CE2 cartos and that was an expensive nightmare. Not to mention, I have 3 different set ups (510 -> 808 -> eGo). Dripping is entirely too much of a pain. My favorite is the tanks, but they don't have the "out of the box" vaping experience for long before the atty maintenance. I typically end up going between the tanks and cartos. Love the tanks, but the maintenance is high, so I start using my tried and true cartos. I have the new 510 tanks on order, and according to the video review done by Vermont Vapor, their flavor and TH is even better than the eGo tanks. I look forward to trying those and hope the review holds true. Would be great if the atty maintenance is less. Once I save up a little $, I'm thinking that a bottom feeder may be the way to go. I also have someone from PIF sending me some blue foam. I've seen so many good reviews about using it with my eGo Mega attys, I'm hoping I may be able to resurrect those. When I tried them, they leaked like a sieve - upright or flat. And despite juice pouring out the bottom, it was dry hit after dry hit. The carto would look dry on top, but be full of juice at the bottom. So, I top off the cart and get a few good hits (sometimes), but topping off just made more juice pour out the bottom of the atty.

Like you, despite what sounds like an annoying ride, I'd never go back to analogs. They seem so gross now and I wonder how I smoked them for so long. Congrats on reaching the 1 month mark. Hopefully we both find that vaping sweet spot we are searching for soon!

Thanks all, yeah I am still searching for the sweet spot. Somebody will come up with the mechanics that make sense and work for more than a day or so. I am keeping all four batt set up with all of that I have, carts, carto, tub(tank)lol, made a funny, umm..the reg 510 carts, dripping. It's still good.

Hey man,

Congrats on making it a month. I started this "vaping" thing in Jan. of this year and haven't had an analog since...and that's after 30+ yrs of about a pack a day.
I started w/ the typical cig style unit, but found I had to re-charge too often and re-fill cartos too often as well.
I've settled on using a Totally Wicked Tornado (aka 510) and after getting some 'mega' cartomizers, mega atomizerss & cartridges I'm very happy. It also helps to find juice flavors that you like...my favs being from Kick Bass Vapor & Vaperite.

Good luck & hang in there, if I can do this, anyone can.

It seems that finding your groove, for lack of a better description, seems to be a challenge for everyone. I know I'm still finding groove, but it gets easier and easier as each day passes and I discover new flavors. One thing I'm learning is to really stick with the flavors I've tried and found enjoyable. I also stopped looking for the cigarette taste replacement. I just enjoy vaping and take it day by day. I'll never go back to cigarettes!

Congrats on your month anniversary! I feel your frustration -- I am a two-year vaper in a couple months. I progressed from a regular 510, to Greencigs, to a KR808, spent a while with CE2 ceramics, Ego tank... and finally, I am settled on a mini-mod, a little black box known as the Li'l Goat. Fits in palm of hand. It's a bottom-feeding self-juicer. There is not much that can go wrong. I leave the house with a 3 mil bottle inserted and a fresh battery. I don't have to bring anything else with me for the entire day. This is just stunning to me. And liberating! Hang in there no matter what you wind up with. It beats smoking by a mile!
