So my darwin took a crap on me and like a dumb .... I opened it up, rebent the switch. Worked fine. Did this a few times until I accidently touched something - heard a sizzle - and bricked it. So I went back to my roots and have been using my 1000mah standard Egos dripping on a 510LR atty dewicked/debridged...

2 Quick question for anyone in the know...

So I was looking around and for $30 have been considering (due to $ mainly, I can't afford a new darwin atm though I would love a new one lol!) a Joye eGo T-2 APV Joye eGo-T 2 Upgrade APV Mod Unit

But the MAIN question I have is on these... *NEW* Vision 2.0 Changeable Clearomizers
Vision 2.0 Changeable Clearomizers... I did like the standard 510 carto's on my darwin, and direct dirpping on a LR dewicked/debridge gave the second best warmth/flavor I've experienced... and have been disappointed on tank cartos and the smoketech dual coil cartos etc. These have me very curious. Hows the flavor? The warmth in vapor? The vapor production itself?

Thanks in advance :vapor:

They are ridiculously inexpensive for one, and since we are all different why not just pick up one of the newer CE's and a vivi nova and test them out? They are the ones that have the changeable heads, just screw it off and replace it. I clean mine though, run them under water and dry burn the coil. There is a LOT of information here on those things.

I have many other systems, but have a soft spot for my clearo. It works very nicely on the eGo. And for the price, you just can't beat it.

ETA: EEEK! I just looked at that eGo you were considering and it has the OLD, leaky, not up to date eGo tank. I hated that stupid leaky thing. IMO, skip that one! There are much nicer, newer unleaky systems now.

The eGo will be a significant let down from your Darwin. For an inexpensive variable PV that has a much better switch (4 amp vs the eGo's small 2.5 or 3 amp switch) I would look at the Gripper from Madvapes. This way you can use any carto/atty/tank and not be concerned about it not being able to handle the power draw. They run about $60.

Yeah thanks everyone, been looking around more. Was eyeing the gripper actually on gotvapes... funny. Kinda of passed it over after reading about the batteries and not wanting to buy ones I wouldn't be able to use (no to mention finding the correct charger for it). Was also looking at both the kranger as well as the stardust cartos.

Bleh -- I hate bein' in this position again lol! I had what I loved and no need to buy random things and survey the scene... Darwin, standard boge 510 cartos = win *sigh* Kicked that thing to 12.0 and it was like taking a trainwreck to the back of my throat (my sweet sport was about a 9-9.5). After dropping a ton of loot on crap early on I really dread the trail and error again and more over the wasted $ ...

But, thanks again for input! For now though the 510 ego and lr attys dripping on the coils has kept me sane. Just doin' my homework!!!

EDIT: Only was looking at thevaporroom because I absolutely LOVE the EC Menthol Tobacco 50/50 mix. I do flavors on occasion, but I vape that stuff up in 3 30ml bottle invervals :D

I considered that too wv2win, but since I opened it I voided any warranty... shipping plus repairs... I guess I could ask but I just assumed it was going to cost buko bucks and that it'd prolly be cheaper just to get a 5v box mod at the bare min. That got me looking into other options... I'm just not trying to break the bank! We just got a parrot and between the bird and the cage and vet visits and toys for it and bath stuff and talon trimmers and first aid etc etc etc it's already set me back $3k. I seriously gotta try to keep it cheap :\

GRAND TOTAL: $148.25

Considering this is cheaper than the very first ecig pos 510 pen style "starter kit" i ever purchased with only a few ml samples included for the kit (and $100 less than a brand new darwin) ... Win! 5 volts + vv with a solid tank unit AND spare bats and charger... plus about 3 month of vaping... I feel good about this! Hopefully this tank works out -- but it gets RAVE reviews on the store sites and on here and alot of sites have units sold out for coils and tank colors and metal tanks so I'm hopeful it was a good choice!

Thanks again everyone for feedback!! I love my egos I do. They are great backups but for a main vape, what can I say, the Darwin spoiled me :D

Vape on! :vapor:

Replacing the battery only costs $25 out of warranty. If it's only the button that is defective, I would guess it could cost less than that. Shipping is only about $8. I would think it's worth an email. Good Luck

No, what I ment was that it was open and I was bending the metal on the button that hits the switch - it was bent from prolong use and wasn't hitting the switch inside the unit itself... my bird was out and decided she wanted to climb down her cage and play chicken and peck around which ended up with pecking my toe ( shes a foot goblin and like to attack feet) which startled me because I wasn't focued on her I was focused on what I was doing so I half droped it half caught while jerking my foot away from the sharp ... beak thinking my big toe was an acorn or something lol... and in the process I ended up touching the board. There was a distinct little sizzle a little poof of smoke and the unit went dead. I shorted something out on the control board.

The battery was fine! The button has this metal that when pressed is what hits the switch. From prolong use it wasn't hitting the switch it bent over time so I was rebending the metal back into place to hit the switch. I've actually done it a couple times in the past with no problems... It became a once a month or so routine kinda thing - I was just startled and f-ed up.

EDIT: I wanted a backup anyway for when I would need to send the darwin in for repairs... when funds allow I'll look into getting it fixed but for now I'll just play with my new toy :)

Ummmm. WRONG. The eGo T Mod is a very nice device. Tank? What tank? I use EMSCC and EMDCC and clearos and would use Vivi Novas if I had any...etc. I really like my eGo T Mod. No, it's not a Darwin. But everything is replaceable...and not expensive. Solid and reliable. Very good mod!

I hate the old "tank" systems with the little gizmo that dripped on an atomizer. Those things bit big time. This has nothing to do with those POS's.

Checking back in. Ok so... absolute love the VariCool. Nothing glamorous, but it does the job and it does it well. Only gripe is obviously that it is plastic and plastic can break if dropped. But I knew this going in. Well that and without the carto on it, it could be mistaken for either a garage door opener or a bomb detonator lol!

Vivi tank. Flavor is a little dull compared to a Darwin with a standard 510 carto (but fresher not as hard as the nasty filler from a carto). Flavor is a little dull compared to 510 atty dropping on an ego. Still, flavor wise... I have yet to find any solution comparable to simply dripping on a 510 atty where the flavor really pops. It is easy though. Fill it and go about your thing. And I do like it alot. Vapor is hands down better in volume clouds n clouds. So much do... flavor aside... my biggest problem is I am tearing this bottle of eliquid up. "All day vape" my toosh. If I sit down and vape as I would smoke an analog for 5-10 mins, I've just blown through 1 - 1.5 ml!!! Not that I'm complaining really... I just think if I stick to the nova tank I'm going to need to double my eliquid stock cuz wow. This burns up the juice like nobody’s biz!!!! I have the 2.4 ohm coil and the power wheel in the box is a little over 1/2 so I would say somewhere around 4-4.5 volts (guessing).

All in all, I'm happy with my new setup. Although at some point here I do want to get my Darwin repaired. But I am now in no great hurry to do so. And I can retire the ego bats to the emergency backup box

Thanks all once again! :)
