I also still own and occasionally use a Vamo V3 and Vamo V5. The "startled robot" look still makes me giggle.

Within 6 months of vaping I got a vamo and was horrified at the inability to put a build of less than 1.2 on it!

Come to think about it, now I exclusively build 1.2 on mechs and love my mtl vaping. Maybe I should dig it out

A Vamo and a Protank II with a 1.2 to 1.5 coil is MTL Nirvana at about 12-14 Watts. Depends on the juice.

I've got a couple VAMOs in backup (not sure the generation). But, I doubt the two ProVari's on hand will give up the ghost before I do, at my age, so the VAMOs will likely just collect dust (figuratively speaking). VAMO's are cool though. Such an inexpensive and functional alternative. When I was working, I liked to take them on the job, not worrying too much if they were damaged, and leaving my more pricey APVs at home.
