First off I am a complete ecig noob! I tried those ones from 7-11 and it just didn't work correctly...

I am new here and I've been searching but just can't seem to find out what the best ecig is to get right now. I am willing to spend around $100. Usually smoke camels and love to taste and feel it hit my throat! Some help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hello & welcome to ECF :)

One of the best deals about for a good starter kit at the moment is the Riva from Liberty- Flights

Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Riva 510

You will also need to buy some e-liquid of your choice but even so, it will come well below your budget of $100 :)

It depends. The 510 thread which includes the Ego and Riva and the KR808 are the most popular batteries on this forum. The advantage of The KR808 for a beginner is that there is a large variety of pre-filled cartomizers and flavors for it. While the 510 thread have a lot more types and sizes in batteries. With a 510 it would be better to start by getting juice and fill your own attys or cartos. The numbers actually refer to the type of thread. Any atty or carto will fit any battery with that thread. I still use both but I don't buy pre-filled cartos any more.

For KR808 you can try;
Vapor4Life-Because it's your life - E-Cigarettes/Smoking Alternatives
V4L will ahe the best selection of prefilled cartos.
Or;
Electronic Cigarette Supplies & Electronic Cigarette Refills for Name-Brand Electronic Cigarettes! E-Cigs from LiteCigUSA

Hey there! Welcome to vaping and ECF!! I have a VaporKing KR808 and love it. I'f you go this route, I'd recommend the Ultimate Kit from V4L (vaporforlife.com). This is the kit I bought with some extra batteries, a car adapter, and some extra pre-filled cartos. I'd also recommend getting some blank cartos and e-juice bottles and do your own filling and refilling. Makes a HUGE difference in flavor and cost. The vapor is a bit better too when you fill your own blanks. V4L has some other, cheaper starter kits too. The ultimate kit (auto) comes with the following. You can get the same kit with manula batteries as well if that's what you prefer.

VK-1000-PCC-1.jpg

V4L IS PROUD TO PRESENT:
THE ULTIMATE ULTIMATUM VAPOR KING KIT WITH PORTABLE CHARGING CASE
2 Automatic Batteries
1 USB Passthrough
1 Portable Charging Case
1 Carrying Case-Your choice of Color
1 VK USB Charger
1 VK Wall Charger
1 VK Car Adapter
1 BOX OF 5 VK CARTOMIZERS- Choose one Flavor/Strength

The 510s are really nice too and there are several models out there that will serve you well. You might want to look into some big battery solutions too if you want longer battery life and don't mind your PV not looking like an analog. Anyhooo...good luck. Do your research and ask questions here on ECF. There's a TON of great info and very caring people here who will help you at a moments notice! Vape on my bruthas and sistas...VAPE ON!!!!

Welcome! I would recommend Totally Wicked (Electronic Cigarette / Totally Wicked eLiquid) they have a 20% off sale in january. Use the code: NY2011 I would get the Tornado Tank E-Nic starter kit. I've never had their ejuices. For e-juice, I would recommend vaporbomb.com or mstsbakery.com- both have a large selection and their juices are awesome!

I actually don't currently recommend TW - not using original Joye parts and and some people including me have had issues with parts not fitting right or being the wrong parts. I think if you buy an Ego right now buy one that is a Joye brand (original manufacturer)

And if you want a lot of TH, go with a fat battery unit - Joye Ego or Riva 510 probably - it has the widest selection of atomizers and cartomizers and since it's fat battery it can use the stronger LR (low resistance) ones.

If you would rather stick with a slim model a bit thick and longer than a cigarette, then I take a look at the cartomizer 2-piece model KR808D-1 aka what Vapor4life.com sells in nicer colors (shown by someone above). But you should probably try to figure out if cartomizers are for you. They are a bit more complicated to fill but the fill lasts longer than a cart. And not even cartos last as long as a pack of cigs - a carto might last 5-10 cigs worth depending on how you vape but you have to be careful not to run them dry or they will die prematurely or get singed. Good batteries with longer life than the basic small 510.

I do think it's hard to figure out if you are a cart or carto person until you try both. But if you buy 510-based or KR808D-1 based then there are adapters to go from one to the other so you can end up trying a lot of different stuff no matter which of those you get. The only caveat is that you can only use more powerful low resistance attys and cartos on the fat battery versions.

Ego and Riva 510 are the fat battery versions of 510. Elegant Easy and I think something Bloog sells are fat battery versions of KR808D-1. There are also 901 models but that is probably a softer hit than you are looking for (and if you wanted you could always try a 901 atty on Kr8 which is what I do, or with an adapter on 510)

I was looking at the Ego bundle and its right over $50 with 20% off! Am I looking at the right one?

Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Joye eGo

The Ultimate kit from V4L looks sweet as well. I'll start with the Ego or similar and start buying different ones to see which ones I like the best. Will be fine because I'll be saving money lol!

I will be filling my own cartos from the get go. Do you guys just fill like 10 for the day or something?

You didn't click the 20% off at the top. I'd personally get the, Riva 510 - Carto Deluxe for $34.39 because I use cartomizers. I find them easier. Then get an extra box of Boge cartomizers. A couple Delrin drip tips $1.59 each.

I also got the Joye eGo pass though for $20.79.

And at least 30 ml of juice. Try samplers at another site. I wasn't crazy about their juice.

I don't fill 10 because I use the same juice. I have a couple filled and usually just top it off.

I see. So the drip tips work pretty good? Seems pretty cool. Still reading and watching videos. I've read that a LR atomizer works better than the stock one?

EDIT: Been watching Shan's videos on youtube. VERY COOL! Going with the ego + nhaler twisted drip tip. Looking for liquid to start off with now.

Thanks Beetle. I was reading the same thing yesterday.
Norcal: I researched & researched some more for like a week before purchasing. It was a toss-up between the Boge Leo, Joye eGo, & the Riva 510.
I ended up w/ the eGo for several reasons.
#1. The Leo only worked with it's own parts. Nothing else would work on it. Plus it looked kind of big
#2. After reading how similar the Riva was with the eGo I went with the eGo simply because they offer double the warranty time than the Riva. If they are so "similar" as people suggest, why does eGo have more faith in their product? : ) It was only $10 more & came with prefilled carts (I did order juice)
#3. I was able to jump in one of the last Special Edition Steel eGos from Liberty Flights. They seem to be on the ball. Ordered last night, I just got confirmation it shipped this morning.

You didn't click the 20% off at the top.

When I ordered from LF on Monday, the 20% button at the top of the page wasn't actually doing anything. It may not function properly in some web browsers. I was using Google Chrome at the time. I just manually entered a code that I found in the LF sub-forum here (I wanna say it was "ecf" but could be mistaken) and got the 20% that way.

swedishfish or anyone else. My ego pt is just a usb cord with a mini usb plug on one end that plugs into the back of the Ego and a a regular usb plug on the other end of the cord. I use this at home with a usb wall wart and in my car. It also charges the battery. Is this what you mean by a Joye pass through. This was the cheapest way to try out an ego battery and as it turns out I rarely use it.

Also does the Riva come with the same set up to use as a pt.

Yeah the %20 off button isn't doing anything. I will check for the code. Can't order it for a week or so anyway though. The more I read the more I like the idea of just adding a couple drops and hitting it a few times with the drip tip. I am going to try every way though and see what happens. Thanks so much for all of your help everyone! I really appreciate it! I will update when I get one.
